Planning to go to Red Rock National Park and Lake Mead National Park in a few weeks with my 2015 TRD Pro. Taking the family. Never went off roading before. Any recommendation on easy trails to break in the car and not freak out my wife and daughters?

You should be fine on all of their trails, they don't have anything too difficult there. Just be careful because we had so much rain this season there are probably some pretty washed out rutted roads that you'll have to take slow.

If you have the time I would recommend heading north of Vegas about an hour to Mesquite. Turn south and head to Gold Butte National Monument. Great red rock formations (Little Finland), sink hole (Devils Throat), slot canyon and petroglyphs (Keyhole Canyon) and lots of old mine sites. The roads won’t scare the wife and kids.

I am new to the LV area and have taken a few trips in my 2016 Trail. One route I really liked was Boat House Cove on Lake Mead. You can also easily get to Valley of Fire from there.

I think me and the kids will be camping boat house soon.
