Fixing the back bumper of a 2000 4Runner?

Hello,

This is the damage to my back bumper:



To fix it, is it as simple as replacing the dented part with a replacement like this one I found online (also from a 2000)?



Is this something an average dude can do, or is a trip to an auto body shop going to be the way to go?

Depending on your experience, this shouldn't be bad at all! Have you shopped around for aftermarket bumpers at all? You might find something you like

Thanks. The only thing I have found in terms of aftermarket are parts that require painting. Do you know of a parts source that ships the parts already painted?

Painted to match the color of your car? There is probably somebody out there but if I were buying a bumper, it would be black. Not to worried about the paint color on an off-road bumper as it's bound to get beat up.

I need it to match everything else.

Easy fix, I just pulled my whole rear bumper off. On the side piece there's just a few bolts, 2 on the bumper on back and its got a side body bracket. You can buy perfect match spray cans online. Mine is "desert dune" and the spray can matched perfect. I'm replacing my rear bumper with an off road to match the front one I already replaced, just got delivered.

Pulling the bumper is super easy work. There are only like 6-8 bolts. Easy stuff.
