I don't rock-crawl (though if I get an H3, I would check it out) so un-maintained forest service roads are the worst the rig will see (which are sometimes pretty bad). I have used all the clearance on the Outback on many occasions, so currently, the Element wouldn't cut it. I love it's flexible interior and I even like its look...
My current list for the Outback replacement:
- FJ Cruiser
- H3
- T4R
- X-Terra
- Grand Cherokee ('Mojave' edition from American Expedition Vehicles: http://www.aev-conversions.com/Gallery_WK.html )
The new Outbacks are nice, but I have had three Subarus. Time for a change. But, I'm taking my time. That's why you see my perusing the comparison forum here. Excellent signal to noise ratio...

Just curious...what would make you choose a H3 over a 4Runner? I like the look of the H3, but it is a GM-based vehicle...anyway, just curious.
