BFG AT KO tires. These tires are my favorite all-terrain tires...i have them now on my G.

Those aren't production tires. I am sure they are one-offs for the concept car....

At long last, Ford is reviving the Bronco. After teasing small truck lovers and brand devotees with the sublime 2004 NAIAS concept vehicle shown above, it would appear that the Blue Oval has relented, and is now set to revive the storied nameplate.

According to Edmund's Inside Line, the rough-and-tumble offering will be screwed together in Mexico using engineering from Mazda of Japan and Ford of Europe. The model will have a production twin under the skin as well, in the form of a sub-Focus five-door hatchback.

In news that will give hard-core offroaders reason for pause, the Bronco will be built on Ford's current Fiesta subcompact's mechanicals (a replacement chassis is already under development, but the Bronco will get today's greasy bits due to cost issues) in Ford's Cuautitl

I guess we are getting off the FJ topic....but:

I assume the new Bronco will have at least some form of AWD. I see this as squaring up against the Element. If they can give it some ground clearance and a usable interior, I think it can sell...

BTW I didn't say it did not have 4wd, I just said it will not have any 4x4 capabilities. Basically like an AWD Element.

Back on topic, I really can't wait to see what the production interior of the fj looks like and we shall find out real soon.

wow, as a new 06' T4R SR5 owner I must say the FJ really peaks my interest. I am a HS teacher with two younger children and an avid autoxer. Wife promised me after I got her the T4R when I finish my masters in may 08' I could have whatever I wanted. I had toyed with the idea of replacing my 86' MKI with an 08' Civic Si but I am seriously considering dropping the Si idea and going with an FJ, it will be in the same price range so that will make the wife happy!

I have read solid for 3 days now about the FJ. at least waiting till mid 08' it will have the "bugs" worked out of it.

Well, hopefully, not many to work out. It is heavily based on the current Tacoma/4runner/Prado platform with similar electronics. The only thing that is different from 4runner is rear locker option. And being Toyota, i doubt that there will be many (or at all) bugs to work out.

Saw an FJ on the streets of Irvine this morning during rush hour. Pretty sure it wasn't a private vehicle, but I guess they're on their way.

I saw a blue/white-top FJ sitting in a parking lot in downtown Portland, OR. It had Oregon dealer plates on it.

It looked very nice in person....
