FJ Cruiser Concept

So, Bigbill, are you buying one or are you buying a 4runner? Or do you own a 4Runner already?

Currently have a 97 Subaru Outback. I love my Subie (it's my 3rd) and while I really like the 2005 Outbacks, I am ready for a change. I have looked at the 4Runners, and really like them, but the FJ just seems cool.

A couple things need to happen with the FJ:
  • I need to sit inside and make sure I fit (I'm 6'3")
  • I need to figure out my work plans. I might move to Turkey for a year.

I'll keep you apprised!

I'm bummed....the Toyota dealer right across the street had it in for a while.....especially for a photo shoot......and I missed it.

headroom

6'3"! Have you sat in a 4Runner? I'm sure it would be tight for you. I'm 6' and my hair touches the headliner. I actually removed my drivers side sun visor, for more visibility.

I hear you can gain some more headroom if you don't get the sunroof. I'd like to find out if anyone has lowered their seats, and how hard it was.

I saw abt 15 fj's in the distribution lot ready for delivery. I take the train to chicago for work. I pass toyota's storage lot everyday. This is where all toyota's going to the midwest get unloaded off the trains(union pacific).

Oh shit, there

Thanks for the photos.

Interesting that is has "Distributor" plates and not dealer plates...

Well, Irvine really isn't that far from the docks in San Pedro where I saw a ton of these sitting in a lot waiting for delivery.

I can't emphasize how much better it looked in person than in the pictures.

Luxury, those are great pictures! I sometimes drive by the Newark port and never see the FJ's sitting there or being driven around. The NJ Turnpike crosses over the Toyota port.

Pricing!!!

Kelley Blue Book now has pricing up for the 2007 FJ:

http://www.kbb.com

The don't have pricing for options that aren't available at launch, but they do for everything else. Looks like mine will MSRP just under $29k...

great pictures of it on the road in action. I can't wait till my local dealership has one in their showroom so I can really check it out. I may change my mind of a 4-dr tacoma for the play toy for this in stead. My requirements where 4wd, and be so I can fit my 4 and 3y/o in it for camping trips and going on the beach.

this is the first truck I have ever drooled over!

<-----------car guy my ENTIRE life untill buying the wife the 06' T4R.

Soooo, I guess an update is in order. I'm on a couple of waiting lists for:

  • Voodoo Blue
  • Manual Trans
  • A-TRAC/Locking Rear

I'm hoping it will only take a couple of weeks... :(

Also, while I'll stay subscribed to this thread, I'll be moving most of my commentary over to:

http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/

Of course, right now, most of the chatter is "Are they at the dealers yet"....
