Ok so I received the headlights and installed them last night. Pictures below.
The packaging these tings comes with reminds me of opening something I bought from the apple store, nicely packaged, looks like a lot of thought went into the whole thing. The bulbs themselves look and feel like good quality from the bulb itself to the heat sinks to the cables and the ASIC driver that is in the cable path.
Installation on these things is probably a breeze in 9/10 applications. You literally just connect it up to the headlight wiring in the truck and then secure it in the bulb housing (I used some velcro to secure all of the cabling and the ASIC driver). In my particular case and probably anyone else with a 5th Gen 4Runner, there is however a fitment issue. The heatsink on these things is just large enough that it gets in the way when you try to turn the bulb in order to lock it into the housing, more so on the passenger side than the driver side for some reason. On the driver side it just took a bit of finagling and force before it finally turned and locked into position. Passenger side wasn't happening. I actually ended up having to cut off maybe a 1/4 inch of the heat sink where it was butting up against the headlight assembly before I could turn it and get it to lock in place.
After I got them installed they lit up just fine, nice and bright. The heat sinks actually have small fans in them to help with cooling and you can hear them whirring away while the engine is shut off and you're standing in front of the vehicle. From inside the cabin you won't hear anything, especially not with the engine running. I had 35w DDM Tuning HID's in my FJ and these are as bright or brighter, although these run at 6,000K which will give it a slight blue to the color of the light but from your perspective from the driver seat it mostly looks like white.
I've attached photos of the install and what the lighting looks like. Overall I am happy with the end result. If not for the fitment issue I'd definitely recommend these, I guess it just depends on how much work you want to do.
