Fog light wiring question.

I bought a pair if Piaas used that I'd like to install. The pics might look a little messy so please bare with me. The white bunch I understand what they do, the thinner wires I cannot tell are the way they are supposed to look as intended or if the previos owner did some modifications.

Second part is I'd like to use the OEM switch instead of the Piaa switch. Can I simply unscrew the original and re-wire it into the new switch?

Lastly, can this battery terminal top piece hurt or help in any way?

Not sure about the wires. To use the OEM switch, just cut the wire behind the PIAA switch and expose them. Then crimp some plugs onto the ends or solder/etc.

The skinny wires likely provide power to the primary side of the relay. Look that term up, but it only needs to be robust enough to power the indicator LED on the switch and the relay.

Using a different switch wont be difficult. Switches that have an LED indicator have 3 wires. One is from the battery, one goes to the relay to switch it on, and the last is a ground. The ground is what allows the indicator LED to illuminate when you switch the lights on.

I'm pretty sure the Toyota switch uses a spade connector, it should look like this.

Go to the parts store and get spade connectors that will slide over the metal contacts on the switch.
