Fog Lights & High Beams Malfunctioning Following OPT-7 LED Headlight Install

After reading a bunch of reviews I bought these LED plug-n-play headlights from Amazon:

I just installed them yesterday morning in my '97 Runner. I noticed right away that when I turn the brights on, the hi-beam comes on, but the blue indicator light on the dash does not light up.

More importantly, the stock fog light switch does not turn the fog lights on, but rather turns the hi-beams on?! In other words, there are two ways to turn the brights on and no ways to turn the fog lights on.

The lights are supposed to be a true plug-n-play. They plug right into the three prong connector so there really isn't a way to connect them wrong.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any suggestions? I've emailed the company about it but it might take a while for a response. I'm sure the two issues are related.

If u install all the original parts back in does the issue still occur or does everything stay the same

With my LED headlights, my high beam indicator doesn't turn on anymore either. Not really an issue for me, I've just learned to live with it. As for your fog lights, did you perform the fog light mod? Based on experience and reading, whenever you install led headlights and have factory fog lights, the fog light mod is necessary to perform.

I believe this is the write up I followed - it's pretty simple really.
You're just making it so that your fog lights receive power from your driving lights instead of from your headlights. Makes it so that you can turn on just your fogs instead of having to turn your headlights on to use your fogs, and the fogs stay on when high beams are activated too. There was another post about someone installing LEDs and they said they had to perform this mod. I did it prior to installing my LEDs and haven't had a problem, so I'm assuming this should be the solution.

I just installed these in my 02 last month. I have had no problems with mine, but I have done the DRL mod, and I don't have factory fog lights so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I got the same bulbs and had the same problems.

I did the fog light mod and it fixed everything. The only thing it didn't fix is the high beam indicator.

Yep. Plug 'em in and then play with them until you get them working

For DRL's it's a different mod. Same principle though

How do you connect to the new wire to the parking lamp fuse? I get the quick disconnect from the relay but what about the other side?
