Food storage in bear country?

How do you deal with your food/trash when camping out of your 4runner? Especially dispersed camping outside of a campground.

We use a Wild Ideas Bearikade for both backpacking and car-camping. We hide it 100 feet or more from our campsite. To make it easier to find, we've wrapped reflective tape around it. It's expensive, but well worth it if you use it for backpacking. It's lightweight and it seals up tightly. Easy to open and close too.

We also have a Bear Vault canister that we use for overflow on extended trips, but it's much heavier, bulkier, and harder to open. Something like this would probably be your best bet for non-backpacking use, where weight is not so much of an issue.

I use a Bear Vault. Can be kind of a PITA backpacking but totally works. Use it in the 4Runner too when in bear country.

Theres a decent group buy in the works for Zarges Aluminum cases. They have videos on YouTube where Grizzlies fail to open them.

Durable, light, and makes a good stool when backpacking. Love mine.
