I am selling my Shrockworks 4th gen rock sliders these are in great shape no dents
these bolt on.
I have 2 sets of sliders and want to go with the other ones since they are weld on ones
these are very good looking and strong
they have the optional 3rd brace
I am hoping to sell locally but I will ship if needed

Do you know if these are the XREAS style?
I dont know what the difference is in the styles but they give that option on the web site. I do have XREAS on my 4Runner. The gas tube runs along the outside of the frame.

What is the finish on them black powder coat, paint or still bare steel?

Did you install them on your 4Runner?

Sorry for all of the questions but I am interested. I pulled the running boards off, thanks to a Ford 150, and I dont know if I am going with sliders or leaving it open.

I could get up there tomorrow around 5 to take a look at them.

Good thing is I am in the Springs

Hopefully I will have some pictures tomorrow.

I finaly got the sliders installed. They look real good.

I have to admit that the install, while not technically difficult, it was a royal PITA. At least the driver side was. The passenger side was not quite as bad. It was primarily place and bolt after minor preperations.

I did this by myself so I did not take any pictures of the install, sorry.

On both sides the XREAS line has to be unclipped from the plastic clips that hold it to the frame. Of course the slider frame goes right on top of where 3 or the 4 clips go so the 3 clips need to be removed- hammer and flat head screwdriver worked well. I used caution not to damage the lines. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE LINES, IT IS NOT NECESSARY

On the driver side you need to do a fit check before bolting. I had to grind down some of the frame weld where the front and middle slider frame goes over the 4 runner frame. You will see this when you do a fit check.

To do the fit check and install, I used a board on a floor jack to lift the slider in place. I gently eased it all the way up until it was lifting the 4Runner. Then I checked the bolt hole clearance. That told me where I needed to grind.

Crashman gave me the heads up that I may have grind a little off. Very much appreciated :biggrin2:
I did not grind into the frame, just took off some of the protruding weld.

The next issue on the driver side is the front bolt. It has to be inserted from the internal side of the vehicle.

Ok, whats so bad about that- There are 5 tubes running right in the place you need to push the bolt in. I gently used a hammer and flat head screw driver to work the bolt in. It took a while, a lot of patience but I finally got it to go. You cant get a socket on the bolt head or the nut, so have 2 14mm open end wrenches ready to tighten this one.

The last issue on the driver side was the rear bolt.
With all of the stuff in the way (gas tank, brake lines and other lines) there is no easy way to get the nut on the bolt. I inserted the bolt from the outside. You may be able to insert it from the inside but I could not figure out how.
The problem getting the nut on the bolt is that you cant get to it very easy. After trying several positions with both hands, I finally got my left hand in a position I could hold the nut and thread it on the bolt.

After that it is not to bad. You can get a wrench on it and a socket on the bolt head. OK, I know what you are thinking, if you can get a wrench on the nut why not use the wrench to hold the nut to start threading it on the bolt. I tried that but it wasnot going to work.

The driver side took about 2 hours and at one point I was considering having them welded instead of bolting.
The passenger took about 20 minutes.

Because these were built for a non-XREAS system I had to grind off the gussett on each of the support rails. They get in the way of the XREAS lines. I did this last weekend.
