Howdy y'all, I figured it's about time I made my New Member post, especially since I finally have my 3rd gen 4runner.
I am new to the 4runner scene, but not to Toyota engines.
Up until recently I was a Lexus Master Tech for the past 5 years until I decided to hang up my wrenches and move onto a different career, but my need to keep wrenching on my own stuff has finally come back and so here I am.
I've been posting on some threads in the 3rd gen sub-forum trying to help where I can and provided insight with some of the knowledge I have; whether it be anecdotal or first hand experience.
I recently picked up a 1999 2WD SR5 - I live in the flat city of Houston so 4x4 is pointless. I already have a few plans for it, first being some new tires/wheels, and front brakes just for safety reasons as my 6 month daughter will be riding in it from time to time.
From there I am doing all maintenance with probably a full TB/WP kit, valve cover gaskets, filters and fluids, and whatever else I see that needs attention. Luckily for me all this stuff will be easy and I have the tools to do it.
Anyways, I could go on and tell my life story but I won't do that to you guys so just enjoy the couple pictures I took the other day and I look forward to being apart of this forum!
