Fox-wing Annex room GB

Hey guys, I am already signed up for the GB on the CVT RTT and I had planned to also get the CVT foxwing awning. Can anybody give me an unbiased comparison of these two?

Waiting on additional details regarding where the room is stored and dimensions as well as how the room attaches to the awning.

The room attaches via velcro at the top. I'm waiting for more info regarding this as there's no velcro currently attached to the awning itself. The material isn't as thick as the awning to save weight.

I saw strips of Velcro (the fuzzy receiving end) on my awning. Its on the inside seam.

Not sure if anyone has both to do a comparison. CVT and most other major "manufacturers" have these ACTUALLY manufactured in China. The company we're getting these from claim to manufacture for CVT among others, but I take those claims with a grain of salt. With that said, so far the people that have received the awning are pleased with the quality and construction of it. At $270 and shipping you're saving quite a bit of scratch comparatively. That's the only honest comparison we can assess so far. Hopefully someone can chime in if they have had experience with both. I know that doesn't answer your exact question but it's what I got
 
Can you confirm that the annex has no floor. And that the annex just consists of 4 outside panels, no panels against vehicle that would "seel the room".

In the pictures that I saw and posted you can see that there are panels on the inside that would seal the awning like a tent. Keep in mind, there are panels that you can unzip to open the panel to the truck itself. And there is no floor.

I'm definitely interested in both the awning and an annex in gray as the last couple pics of the 1st post.

Question.. is the annex a whole piece or can you attach only certain pieces for example leave a section open ?

Strictly based on the response the manufacturer gave about the awning completely enclosing the awning, I'd say it's one piece. I will confirm this with the manufacturer and update you. Keep in mind, every section seems to have a giant entry/exit flap. So even with the annex on you could still have huge open spaces in each panel.

Trying to get a sense of how the annex room marries up with the 4Runner at the hatch opening? Assuming the annex room is closed since it has mosquito netting, so how do you open the hatch into the "room." Hope my inquiry makes sense? Thanks for your work on this GB!

I didn't realize the netting unzips too. That's great. So what are the color choices for awning and annex ?

I'm curious how you guys are dealing with the 4R doors that open up and right into the foxwing? Thats the only reason I didn't buy on the first one, no way around the giant rear door that goes right up into the awning, that I can see short of raising it waaaay up.

Your question makes perfect sense. I feel that with the awning and annex attached you're going to have a hard time having your rear hatch open. You might be able to open it enough to reach in and grab things but I doubt you'll be able to completely access it. I'm putting together a list of questions for the manufacturer as I don't want to harass them every night. I will add this to the list and see if they can explain this better.

I'm assuming the netting unzips too...cuz why wouldn't it, right? I'll add this to the list of questions for the manufacturer and confirm that answer for you. The color for the awning and annex will be the grey. If we do different colors I'd have to get more committed buyers of each color before ordering. The grey seems to fit pretty well with people's truck colors that's why I went with grey.

Hey Jared, the rear door opens into the material of the awning in most applications. Obviously, mounting position will determine this. But I think a simple rope to keep the rear hatch positioned in a way that it is open at a certain angle so that it doesn't interfere with the awning. One member did mention that he wasn't able to open his rear hatch only because he had a gobi ladder installed on the rear hatch and it interfered with the awning, otherwise he said it would be ok to open. Hope this helps.
