Frame weld corrosion

Drive up on ramps and remove spare tire. Take a garden hose with a barb adapter and piece of rubber tubing zip tied to the end. insert into frame rails to clean out. Power wash underside of truck with water only.

Let dry.

Apply POR 15 to welds if you prefer. Let Dry

Purchase an underside coating kit that has adapters to allow you to shoot into the frame rails. Apply WOOLWAX or FLUID FILM into all frame cavities and any other part of the truck you want protected. Then spray all exterior metal on the underside of the truck. Let it sit for a day.

You can always go and buy rattle cans of Fluid Film but the kits are the best. A gallon of fluid Film goes a long way on one truck.

Check out Wool Wax. I have always used Fluid Film but am switching over to Wool Wax next winter.

Thanks

Since I’m in California I don’t plan on using any paint or sealer. Out of curiosity, why are you going to switch to wool wax? Also have you heard anything about RP-342? The BEST Way To Remove Rust And Undercoat Your Truck Or Car | Better Than POR15? - YouTube

From reviews I have read Wool Wax is a better product. Does not wash off as easy and is thicker. Where I live, Fluid Film is very popular though.

Never heard of RP-342. I would not overthink this. Wash the underside of the truck and spray Fluid Film.

RP-342 is cosmoline and is used by the military.

I use fluid film on my land cruiser, which is actually wool wax according to the can. It really smells interesting for a while, but works great.
