Front or Rear Lockers?

After my 285's arrive in a few weeks, I am considering getting a locker put onto my truck.

My question is whether a front or rear locker would be most useful, and about how much it runs for the compressor, install, and everything else needed.

Definately a rear locker... As far as cost I don't know. There are many reasons for a rear being the right answer including the fact IFS fronts aren't quite as tough as old school solid axles. There's a decent post in Off-roading about IFS and lockers right now. If I were trying to build the killer beast (w/o SAS) I'd ARB the rear and Torsen the front. A Tru-trac in the front w/ a V8 would be easy. More complex in a V6 due to the AAD function of the front axle.

That's my 2cents... I'm sure someone will chime in here at the T120 with all the info.

I think that once you get the rear locker, then you're set, Josh...you will have one mean machine..........with wimpy tires! Just kidding!

Thanks, might have to look into this for one of my next mods (after ditching the icon shocks.)

And hey, no worries. I just preferred the tires that I like best, and have given me great performance. I could have always gone with 2nd best... KO's. But why settle right?

A big part of the cost is going to be labor. If you pull the 3rd out and carry it in to a shop you'll save 6-8+ hrs of labor, at $90-100/hr. If you install the compressor and line, another 3-4 hrs.
