In the process of buying front rotors.
Anybody knows what is the best other than OEM? and a place to buy?

I found the following information is helpful to select the proper size rotor.

Front caliper Casting
A) S13WM is for 16 inch wheels and 319 mm diameter rotor
B) S12WE is for 15 inch wheels and 297 mm diameter rotor

I'm sure you can refer to bigfishalldays Tundra brake thread the quality between oem and aftermarket is a huge gap. Why don't you let me price them out and I'll see what I can do. Your looking for the factory rotors correct?
 
I spent some time looking into rotors today actually, because I occasionally experience shuddering while braking. I found that from Camelback the OEM bigger rotors are only $52 each (cheaper than the smaller ones, for some reason). Even the cheapies at the parts stores were $35 each, so not much savings there. Of course you can spend more for higher performance parts, but at that point it's probably worth looking into the TBU.

Why are you wanting to avoid OEM?

I like OEM. because they last and safest.

I figured rotor is a piece of metal and not much of engineering in it. Even my autozone rotors lasted 4 years.

I have to buy some parts and will try camelback! Thanks for the information!
 
I personally liked Beck and arnley brake rotors... Toyota used various manufactures to produce their rotors over the years and the contract had changed hands a couple of time over the year in Japan. Toyota tends to bounce between Aisin, Sumitomo, Nissin and Denso for some of their brake parts. I think NISSIN holds the contract this year but maybe incorrect. I've had good life out of Beck and arnley parts because they reach out to factory vendors for there parts of course the difference is the box say toyota v/s Beck and Arnley and the typically comes with a saving depending on Negotiations of Contract... Beck and Arnley uses Sumitomo for Toyota's rotors.

I have 4 sets of stock rotors. Driven on 2 of them first hand. Not warped or grooved. You can have them for the cost of shipping if worse comes to worse.

I have tundra brakes on mine and this stuff will go to scrap before I try selling them all.
 
I put DBA (Disc Brakes Australia) drilled rotors on my 2002 before I sold. Somebody got really nice brakes when they bought mine after I traded it in. Expensive but worth it if you are keeping your 4Runner....
