Scirocco 84's Build Thread

This is probably the best truck I've ever owned. Purchased in 2014 and intended to modify into an Overlander. Had kids and the truck remained a stock daily driver. I'm selling because we're relocating and can't take the 4Runner with us.


Very well maintained and in excellent mechanical condition.
Paint is in fair condition, there are some blemish spots including the rear hatch and drivers front quarter panel, visible in the pictures.
Interior is in good condition, no upholstery rips or tears.
Includes a simple cargo box with slide out bins.



Major (ish) Modifications:
Taco Whip Antenna
Tundra 13WL 231mm calipers
Tow Package added
Factory roof rack added
Aftermarket stereo needs replacement, volume and disc changer does not work anymore.

I have a complete maintenance history journal and purchase records of all replacement parts, which were mostly OEM.
It also comes with an extra fuel sender that I never got around to putting on.


New Tires were purchased this year
Timing belt and water pump changed about 20,000 miles ago

We’ll I thought there’d be a bit more, but maybe I’m just biased because I love it so much.

We’re headed overseas so I have to sell it.

Honestly would take any feedback from the community. I guess all of those Bring a Trailer auctions had dollar signs in my eyes.

If I had the money I’d be all over it. It’s a great combo of features and in great shape. I would guess timing of inflation and gas prices are scaring away the enthusiasts. 3rd gens are the best all-around in my opinion. But they’re also 2 decades old now.

I would love to take a closer look at this beauty. But sadly I'll be in the San Diego area by the end of July. Hopefully, you would have sold it by then!

What’s the mileage? If under 300k and the paint was in better shape I think you’d have already sold it for asking price. A paint boem here or there is one thing, but the rear hatch in particular is detracting from the rig overall. Pretty desirable year/ trans combo with the e-locker so it’s certainly got a lot going for it. GLWS!
