That guy is screwing you on shipping. I ship 125 lbs of steel skid plates from Iowa to Cali for $85. 25 pounds would be $30 max.

He said the reason it was so expensive was the dimensions of the enclosure. He said if the shipping box was the exact size of the enclosure (length) then it would be fine, but because it's 2" over with the shipping box included, it's a higher rate.

I'm not sure since it's my first time, but he seemed genuine.

So I think it was less the weight and more of the dimensions.

How big is it? My skid plates are 42" by 30" by 7" when I package them all together. Try fedex or even usps next time. Box it up yourself to save money too.
