It has come time to sell my swing out bumper that I built over the past two years. The bumpers itself is constructed out of 1.66” OD schedule 80 and the swing out is made with 1/8th inch 2x2” tubing. the spindle, wheel mount, and standard 2” receiver are part of the RuffStuff DIY bumper kit. The latch is a Destaco 341 rated for 2000 lbs. There is a CB mount located on the left corner near the tire along with a spring loaded pin that acts as a backup when closed and stationary lock when open. “This prevents the Swing out from moving all over the place when open” As shown in the photo, the swing out is designed to cradle a 4 gallon rotopax below the window line to minimize blind spots.
I built this with the intentions of creating a heavy duty, high clearance bumper that is aesthetically pleasing. As pictured, we have loaded this bumper down with a 285, full rotopax, grill, and garbage on several different occasions. I have done numerous thousand mile wheeling trips with this setup issue free. We have also pulled a dual axle trailer with three sleds and a razor and several different occasions. The estimated weight of this setup is between 3000-3500lbs with 300-500lbs of tongue weight.
The installation of this bumper will require chopping the original rear cross member and welding on the half inch mounting plates. The bumper itself does not weld directly to the truck but is instead connected with eight bolts. This allows for quick and easy removal if there is work to be done on the rear end. I will supply the buyer with simple measurements to ensure that everything lines up properly. I am also more than willing to work with the buyer if shipping is required
Lastly, I am located in Green Bay Wisconsin and am asking $1500 for the bumper. This does not include the rotopax, cb whip, or tire. Hahaha
Good condition will fit all 4th gens,
