Drabbits, it seems to me the metal mesh would sag if someone stood on it between the cross bars. When will you have your gals up there to test it?

Also, how much taller or shorter is your rack versus the OEM rack on the 5th Gen Trail Edition?

Also, can you post a pic with the wind dam installed?

Not at all, well not the kind of sag I believe you are implying. I tac every single part of the mesh that comes in contact with the bottom rack rail and that creates a sturdier surface.
Before I can get the gals up, I'd need to start saving my ones! so.. about a week? :girl:

Looks Great. Also interested to see pictures of insert for sunroof installed and additional feet.

I like this rack because it looks like a gobi but appears to not be as high in the front.

If thats the case I might be able to slip under my parking garage. Do you have a measurement of how many inches the highest point sits above the roof?

This is also the appeal to me, in addition to the price. Lets assume:

"Sits just under ½” above center of roof line."

" 3.5” x 47” x 88” "
=
approx. just under 4" above center roof line

Yeah...I had read that in his post but I'm thinking the way our roof is shaped that 4" above the center roof line would be the lowest point of the rack height. If measured from the front when the roof starts to slant towards the windsheild it would be the front feet length + 3.5" which would be its highest point.

Does my thought process make sense or should it just be 4" above the roof straight across?

Ah good point. Although I know there is a slight curvature to the rack front to back vs. completely flat, but it may not be exact to the curvature of the roofline. It does appear to be completely flat from side to side, but I'll let those who actually know what they are talking about handle this from here :tape:

Their standard tubing is 1 1/8" in diameter. It'd be great if this was possible because it would allow us to put our bike and kayak carriers on top.

2. What's the current wait time? I am pcsing on the next 2 months and wait times would determine where I would need it shipped to.

Thats correct guys, it'd be 4" +- an 8th at the center of the roof from all points. But you'd also need to calculate tire height and suspension lifts....

If you slide the sunroof open you'd be fine, but the pop up would hit the insert. I could work out something custom as soon as I have the time. With the insert installed really don't get the full benefit of the sunroof, I usually only bolt it in when I need the extra space.

Those should work fine, if they are long enough to span the width of the roof rack.

I too am very interested and will have funds ready once final product is rolling out. Final pictures with wind deflector and front pieces will be fantastic. I think this is a great first mod... super excited and my wife wants to now be able to drive around town with Christmas lights :rofl:
