For those that have installed the wind fairing that came with your Camelback rack...can you post to pictures of where you have it set on bracket? My wind fairing makes a ton of noise at 50+ MPH

Take it off and you can have tones of noise from about 35+

Mine was flapping at one point, I think with a crosswind and it sounded like it was hitting the roof so I took it off. Other than the flapping, I don't remember there being any noise. The original setting was about 1/4" above the roof. I'm planning to try and get it down on the roof after putting some clear plastic on the roof and edge guard on the fairing. Here's a picture of it after Alex installed it.

Finally made the trek down to L.A. to pick up my rack. The quality/workmanship of the rack is amazing. It was definitely worth the wait. The only pictures I have are ones we took while installing it. So this will have to do for now.

If you're looking for this style of roof rack, I highly recommend this one. The lead times can be long, but Alex is actively working to improve them.

Wooops so I installed the front supports in front of that last vertical bar, not behind it. Do I need to change that? The directions didn't say.

Might want to contact Alex and ask. Looking back through the thread, looks like everyone else has them behind the vertical which is where Alex puts them. I think it's because he's wants to make sure it's not clamping on any part of the curve.

I've seen pics of it both ways. I just texted Alex. Hopefully he gets back to me sooner than later.

Front support mounts

Wooops so I installed the front supports in front of that last vertical bar, not behind it. Do I need to change that? The directions didn't say.

Now that I think about it, putting the front supports between two vertical bars could be more structurally sound.

But, I have my front supports in front, too. Even left a gap in front of the last vertical bar so I could slide the rack forward when my Gobi ladder came in.

They compressed in between the rack and roof nicely when I tightened the stock mount brackets down, which was my only concern placing them so far forward at the time.

Please excuse the "dirty pic"...taken the day after a trek from bug-ridden AR across OK into the dusty TX panhandle. :yo: Mind if ah barree yer powur-warsher??

I haven't tried yet, drought and all here, but I hear a swiffer type mop thing works well as it can fit between the roof and bars.

Looks sick! How is the wind noise on this rack with sunroof open and closed? Also can you mount a yakima skybox to it? Does it have crossbars?

It has been 20 weeks last Thursday and still haven't heard back from the last email. The last time I heard, beginning of June, Alex said it would be late the next week when it went to the powder coating. That was five weeks ago, so who knows. If you do order one, make sure you don't need it soon.

Thanks! Wind noise is normal or better. Cant hear it at all with sunroof and partition both closed. Skybox- yes! The one below is the largest one made.... Skybox Pro 21
