Yes I got mine a few weeks ago.
So far, worth the wait.
His communications are "sub-optimal" but his product is solid and he and his wife are very nice.

Happy New Year everyone!
Hope you all had a safe, yet exciting and memorable time!
I was going to rant about how difficult 2015 was for Camelback Metal Gear, but . . . for every difficulty this small business endured this past year, something positive came out of it. Yet, there are still some persistent issues that need to be corrected.
Foremost, is the lengthy lead / build time.
The simplest explanation I can give is that I spent a lot of time and energy this past year training potential employees. In doing so, I sacrificed a lot of production time, presuming that with a trained employee by my side, the time sacrificed would be easily made up. Unfortunately, for one reason of another, these trained individuals moved on before we could make a dent in the loss time.
Yet, on a positive note, for every disappointment, new time saving jigs and dies where made, which is steadily improving production time.
Another issue that needs to be addressed is rust. I know of only one serious incident that happen due to the roof rack not being powder coated properly. If there are others, please inform me. After discussing this with the powder coater and renegotiating terms, I’m happy to announce that the roof racks are now being powder coated with a primer before the final coat is applied. I’m also excited to announce that more color choices and textures will be available soon.
I finally moved into a new shop, same location, just a different building. It’s not my dream shop, but it will do for now. Everyone is welcomed to stop by, just let me know when. I’m still a one-man band here, so if I’m not in the shop working, I’m at the powder coater or picking up other supplies.
Due to the amount of roof racks that are on order, most of my energy is being spent building them. Finding the time to sit still long enough in front of a computer has become a luxury. At this time, I can only afford to get online and communicate with everyone about once a week. Yet, for those of you with current orders, throughout the week, I will call or text you with updates.
Recently I was away from work for a week due to personal health issues.

I don't know why the long lead bothers anyone [MENTION=68079]drabbits[/MENTION] clearly states he is 95 and if anyone expects a 95 year old to pump our racks 24/7 well then you need to have your head examined. :lmao:
Joking aside props to you for owning up to the delays, there is always excuses for everything but the people that take them as a learning opportunity are the ones I respect vs. those who just hide behind "outside my control". Keep making a quality product, improve communications/updates, shorten lead times and I bet 2016 will be a good year.

I was looking forward to seeing your rack last week when I was out at Domello Off-Road. I know work comes first and that's why we missed meeting for lunch.
Maybe we need to get out for a desert run. Carlomagne's pic's of Anza Borrego via Split Mountain and Sand Canyon looked interesting. There are a few roads and hiking trails I plan to see out there this winter.

I guess I'm the only one with this problem. I guess it is the humidity in New Orleans? I still need to take the rack off and paint it before the rust starts ruining my paint job. ...but I'm gonna wait until spring. May also just get it re-powder coated. Need to look into pricing.
