FS 5th Gen. Full Length Roof Racks by drabbits

I can't believe people are still ordering and waiting a year [emoji33] for their racks. Gobi is taking 2 months though.

Anyone heard from drabbits lately? I've sent 3 emails and a PM trying to get an update since the beginning of April and have not gotten a response of any kind.

Why are people choosing this or a Gobi, etc when there is an Equipt K9 out there that you dont have to worry about rust and has a much better mount? Just curious.

Long build times and no responses are the most common complaint toward drabbit racks yet people are still ordering and asking why they haven't heard or received their racks yet? You shouldn't expect your rack for at least close to a year later.

I finally got a response/text from Alex today. He stated that he didn't have my number saved so I told him who I was. Unfortunately I did not get a response back. At this point I probably will be cancelling my order and filing a claim with PayPal for my rack that has been fully paid for but has yet to be received.

When did you order? I ordered in February 2016 and was told 3 months, which I took with a little skepticism, but accepted. This lack of communication though is frustrating for something that has been paid for.

I feel like this is borderline scam. Like he took in the money paid for things not related to the racks now doesn't have money for supplies to build the racks. drabbits should at the very least keep The people who have paid for these informed.

While facts can/may point differently I doubt this is what has occurred,

I think Drabbits did/does this on the side which if still true could be one of the reasons for all the delays. That being said, if you are almost 12m behind on production you should not be taking new orders ( a waitlist yes, but not accepting money and that should have happened once lead times got in the 6-8m range from the original quotes of 3-4m).

I have posted once before in this thread, I hear great things about the rack and Alex (?) but I think the Original posting should be updated to reflect the extremely long lead times, start a waitlist vs. taking any new orders and most importantly provide an update or two. Once every couple weeks or even months should not be hard to sit down and write an e-mail update to pending orders.

I have no skin in the game but at this point I would recommend people go another route unless service starts to change and communications improve, every other post in this thread is about waiting.

** I have no first hand experience in dealing with Drabbits, this is only my opinion based on reading maybe 30% of this specific thread

I should say I have no experience in working with him either. I guess from the outside looking in it seems like bad business. The product looks amazing, the customer service/ communication is sorely lacking. I hope for the sake of the others it's works out sooner then later

I agree with you completely and I am more upset at the lack of communication as I now have all my trips planned for the summer and was planning on having the rack installed by than. The design and quality is the reason why I am willing to wait but by the looks of it I'll have to find an alternative way to carry my gear until I get a notification from Alex letting me know that it's on its way.

Buyers beware

I ordered a rack in August 2015 and still have not received it. It is May 18, 2016! Do not think your money is safe either. PayPal only guarantees your transaction for 180 days and this guy will never deliver a rack in that time frame. If you pay by deposit, around the 150 day mark he will send you an email to send the rest of the money since your "rack is being finished" and to expect texts in the next several weeks. Clever because you want the rack so you send more money. And the rack never shows and he won't answer the phone or your text or your email for a few weeks and then string you along. Meanwhile you lose your deposit. Do not buy from this creep. If you have money paid via PayPal, get your refund now and report him so you can stop him from stinging every member of this forum!

I'm sorry.
Many, many people have his racks, and many know where his shop is. He has delivered and has not burned anyone or not try to make it right. Although he may not provide the best communication, he will come through. The fact that it will take very long is well known. If you didn't want to wait, and could pay more, go with another brand. Alex will come through though!

With all these complaints, he should just stop taking orders until he delivers all the racks currently in production. Then use his own capital to build units to be sold when completed. There is obviously a great demand here and he's just digging himself a bigger hole. Just saying...
