FS 5th Gen. Full Length Roof Racks by drabbits

This thread is becoming a broken record of the same message.. Can't believe people still buy, why is he still allowed on this forum and it's be 6 months and I haven't heard from Alex.

I just want someone to sell me theirs at discount price lol

I'm giving up on the rack and have requested for him to refund me immediately. As most should know I have been pretty vocal about the wait/communication with him but 15 months is way to long now. My wife has asked me recently where is the rack that i ordered and when the wife isn't happy than I'm not happy. Alex did text me on September 19 that he would refund my money and give me the rack for free but I have yet to see either one.

I ordered last August, I got the same message about a full refund a couple weeks ago. I don't know if I will ever get my rack or not, I don't think paypal will do much, I'm now considering serious legal charges. I still have a little hope because I haven't heard anyone say they never got their roof rack eventually but my hope is running low. Does anyone have any real information on this guy so you could charge him with something?

Wow hopes everyone get their money back! I did try to email him and guess what this guy reply in an hour! Gave me all the info how to order and how long does it take to get the rack. This guys is a joke!

So your saying he e-mailed you back about placing an order and it only took an hour? If that was a recent request 2 things

1) The balls on that guy, based on what others are saying about getting responses for refunds/status updates
2) Why in the world would he point people towards this thread for more info?.....The brains

I think a statement from the Forum Admin/Mods should be placed on the 1st page of this post giving a brief explanation of what other members have dealt with. Being fair, it doesn't seem like anyone has not gotten a rack and everyone seems happy once the do, however now that folks are not able to get their money back once the lead times have past the quoted by months with excuses or no answers is not a vendor I see this forum supporting.

Best of luck to all involved

I would like to compile a list of the people that are currently waiting on racks and when they placed there order/ paid. If we work together we may be able to recover some of our lost funds.

I have filled a dispute through Paypal, however they simply closed it because it was past 180 days.

Coler2002 - Ordered 11-30-15 5th gen rack + sunroof insert Paid $968

I just received a complaint about this issue. Seriously, a guy pm'd me just now and that is the first complaint I have received on this issue. Contrary to popular belief, I don't read every single thread or post.

I will look into it and see if anything can be done.

How the hell is this guy still a vendor on this site?:wow:

Because people here still keep handing this guy cash even after reading pages and pages of the same shit experience and/or whoever is in charge of this site has set the vendor bar really F***ing low.

It's easy to sit back and throw stones guys. The truth is nobody who can do anything (except whine and make snide comments) knew anything about this.

I have received complaints about many vendors in the past year. Usually they work themselves out and most of the complaints are, you guessed it, about long lead times. You guys have to remember most of the custom shops are little Mom and Pop shops. They are not Toyota nor even your local grocery store. I just read the last several pages and, while some are really mad with their lead times, others, even with the lead times, would buy from him again. It sounds like many are just mad that they were promised a delivery date and that didn't happen. Others are canceling their payment which would be what I would do personally. With that said I will look into it and what can be done. Bottom line, regardless if they are an "approved" vendor or not, Caveat Emptor guys.

I understand long lead times and mom and pop shops. I own one! I am extremely flexible with all business I work with because I understand how challenging it can be.

When most of us placed our orders the current wait time was around 6 months and I knew communication was not great.

But when I email 6 times in 6 months and get no reply. Then new customers get reply's within an hour. That's just wrong. I am assuming its a scam, take new orders and never fill old ones.

He just needs to be transparent and say" its going to be 5 more months" or "I don't have the cash for supplies" Something, anything, But 6 months with no reply that's unexceptionable.

I ordered a rack back on June 4th thinking I would have plenty of time to get it on before my big trip out to Colorado in January, not sure if that is going to happen :tsk: I would try to send an email every 3-4 weeks just asking how everything is coming along, seems like every other month he replies back with little info. I hope he pulls through and kicks it in gear to build his rep back up because as of now it's not looking to good. Really like his product, just sucks waiting.:bored:

June 4th 2015 or 2016. If it was 2016 your dreaming if you think you will see it this winter.

I think the problem is that people who are requesting refunds and trying to cancel payment are not even getting a response from Alex. Then it seems like people have been promised refunds from Alex weeks and months ago are not getting their refunds. It has gotten to the point that some are complaining to the BBB and taking further legal action. It's simple, if he can't deliver the rack then he needs to deliver a refund. Right now, he's doing neither. That's bad business no matter how big or small the operation.

I agree. The post you quoted was aimed at the people in the bleachers and not in the game. I have put out the word to other mods. Also we have only heard one side of the proverbial story. Let's see what we can do.

Wow, I just found this thread and can see why everyone is frustrated. I thought I would offer some input on my experience.

I ordered a rack for my 3rd gen from Alex in late February. At that time he quoted me a lead time of 3 months. With some time passing I e-mailed him for an update. Long story he was going through some personal issues. I don't feel like I should get into them as they were personal issues. I am not making an excuse for him but remember sh!t happens and when you are a one man shop things just don't get done. I will say for the first 5-6 months he was not very responsive. E-mails would take weeks to get a reply.

All in all the rack took 7 months for me to receive. In the last month or two Alex was responsive and even gave me his cell number to contact him directly. I really thought he had gotten his stuff back together, I am sad to read this thread. I hope everything gets resolved for everyone.

So let me get this straight your ordered your rack in February of 2016 and you already have it. That makes the problem even worse. Snow-jet-mk5 ordered his in June of 2015!

I feel for him if he is having personal problems. Do those problems stop him from returning my emails for 6 Months. Yet replying with in an hour for new inquires?

Dude. Replying to every comment does not help. I have PM'd Alex. Let's see what he says. I understand your frustration too. You just reported this morning....
