Are there members local to him who have been screwed with for an extended period of time? He lists Glendale, CA as the hometown. I would suggest a small claims court. I'm not sure how representation of others would work, but at a minimum they could get their $900 back. If you can sue on behalf of others with proper documentation, you could max it out at $7500 (if he is selling them as an individual, $5000 if he is an LLC). IFFFFF he's selling them as an individual and not collecting California tax and paying income tax, that opens the game up.

If multiple locals can sue on behalf of others, it could be a full refund for everyone. If he fails to pay, you put a lien on his property. Seems extreme, but based on the actions he has done, he brought on himself. Either respond to e-mails and honor refunds or pay the price.

Purchased 4-10-16, paid $938.00 for full length rack. Given the 3 month promise for a local pick up. At 4 months he gave me it would be ready and back from PC in two weeks, same at 5 months with a disclaimer about getting out of a bad situation, at 6 months he again promised it to me in a week, but nothing. I have just opened a claim with PayPal as I am within the 180 days.

Again, I understand your frustration but remember this is the internet. Not everything you read is gospel. Although this is a really good, tight knit community, there are people who post who I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw them. What you read and what's the truth could be different things.

Long story he was going through some personal issues. I don't feel like I should get into them as they were personal issues. I am not making an excuse for him but remember sh!t happens and when you are a one man shop things just don't get done.

Some time back, like a year or two, he was "going through some personal stuff" as well, maybe he still is dealing with those issues. There are better ways of dealing with external factors that effect a business and ultimately the customers.

I requested for Paypal to issue a refund since Alex has once again failed to deliver the rack when he said he would. Paypal was able to issue a refund for the second payment since I paid with my Paypal Credit Card, but they were unable to issue a refund for the initial payment because I had paid with my Checking account. Unfortunately my bank is unable to do anything about that payment because I authorized the charge. That ultimately means that I am out a little over $500 with no rack. I have tried to contact Alex but once again he has not responded.

Has anyone been successful at getting a refund?

Well seems that he is making a good business decision that he will not be taking any more orders as of November 5th. I was considering ordering one next month when I have the funds. Knowing fully that it could easily take a full year to get it but he will not be taking orders again till March 2017. During this time he will be "catching up on current orders, reorganizing, and finishing the website."

Good on him for taking a step in the right direction. Like it's been said before, his communication has been more then subpar but his product is on point. Hope he is turning this around.

As of Nov. 5th, 2016 I will no longer be taking in new orders. All outstanding orders placed before Nov. 5th 2016 will be fulfilled as scheduled.

I will be utilizing the next five months to catch up with orders, reorganize the business and build up inventory.

I will be launching the new website March 1st, 2017 and will then begin taking in orders again through the website.

Also, as of March 1st, 2017 the price of all roof racks and accessories will increase.

I got notified today that PP is refunding full purchase price.

Sorry that he did not fulfill his promised date, but i wanted assurances i would get a refund from PP, and it seemed i was getting strung along with my promise date and pick up date.

I think i will email him that if he truly has my rack in process (was at powder coating last two times i contacted him) that id be willing to pick up the finished rack cash in hand.

In the meantime off to looking for a new rack. Yeah.

Have you read any of the last 80 pages?!??!! No one has gotten the rack, that is the point. So whether a Gobi will fit is a moot point.

Might have better luck just pinging someone that is active on here with the Gobi for a measurement. I had wanted the sunroof filler given my RTT takes up so much room but gave up on that with all the issues. I use a Thule box in winter and it's great with two cross bars.
