Hey all - I did the unforgivable and traded in my trusty 4Runner for a Rivian R1S. I'm not here to discuss the pros and cons - DM me if you have questions about upgrading from a 270HP SUV that gets 14MPG to an 835HP battery electric.

Anyway, I found my recently traded-in 4Runner online at a dealership in Tennessee. Someone took the floor mats out, but everything else is still there. It's priced at about 28K- which is fine for a 2016 with 85k miles, but what they don't tell you in the ad is that it has 3 row seating, upgraded Toy-Tech lift and suspension, JBA offroad high castor control arms, SCS Ray 10 rims (gunmetal), Falcon Wildpeak AT's with only 8k miles, an All aluminum roof rack (with ladder) from Victory 4x4, upgraded Projector headlights and Baja fog lights. No accidents, no issues, great service history...I owned it for more than 5 years.

Just thought I'd put it out here in case an "enthusiast" was interested on getting a good deal on a turnkey offroad/overlanding build. These guys don't know what they have sitting on their lot.

Looks like I bought your (my) 4runner. I found this post while searching the vin for the original listing to the car. It was an incredible deal, I was already planning to do the usual lift, tires & wheels, and roof rack to whatever 4runner I bought. Then I found this 4runner and it checked off all the boxes. It was on the market for about 2 weeks before I bought it. I've now owned it for about 5 months and I still love it. I put on raptor lights, 15% tint on the sides and 25% on the windshield, and black sr5 overlays. I also bought some white door and puddle lights. I recently put christmas lights on the roof rack and ladder too. I plan to replace the ppf next. (How did you rip it up so much lol)

I've always wondered why someone put this up for sale and Im glad to know it was just because of an upgrade. Thank you for taking care of this car!

Hey, sorry I never circled back to see if anyone replied/purchased it... Probably the best car I ever owned and certainly the most reliable.

The PPF, which I can only assume was a cheap dealer installed markup, was there when I purchased the 4runner with only about 22k miles on it. I wish I'd have removed it at the time. It had a bunch of tiny cuts and perforations in it, but wasn't very noticeable. I think it got bad after a particularly heavy love bug season. IDK if you have love bugs in TN, but once a year is love bug mating season and for like a week, particularly inland, you find areas where the air is thick with swarming bugs. I've done some highway trips during love bug season and they end up splattered all over the grill, hood mirrors and windshield. You're supposed to wash them off as soon as you can because their bodies are particularly acidic and can mess up your paint and clear coat if you ignore them. I always try to hose them off as soon as I can, but I think thats what ended up getting into all the tiny perforations in the PPF and causing it to crack and bubble up even more.

Sounds like a great setup! The 5th Gen SR5 Premium is such a solid vehicle, and with all the upgrades like the lift, wheels/tires, and roof rack, it must be a real head-turner on and off the road. I’m sure someone will be excited to pick it up. Best of luck with the sale!
