Can snowboard attachments be mounted to this style of rack and what's the tray for? Seen several pics of this rack but never with snowboards.

I'm not sure, I've never used snowboard attachments. I imagine they could be fixed to the cross bars. The rack is there to hold boxes and stuff like that. The nice thing is you can configure it however you like, with or without the tray.
