Fuel Mileage Software

Does anyone use a software program to track their fuel useage, mileage, mpg average, repair costs, etc.?

I made a simple MS Excel file to track fuel purchases and mileage, and generate avg. MPG and avg cost per mile, but I'm sure there are probably some good programs out there that will do much more.

If you use a computer program to track your gas usage, please let the rest of us know what you are using?

Thanks!

For repairs, I just use Excel, too.

Only track mileage on each tank, not a running total. I'd use Excel, too -- you can easily add a graph to show how well you're doing over time. Sharp4runr has a link to his spreadsheet in his signature -- you can download it and check it out as a starting point, then tailor to your needs. For example, you might want to add columns for starting mileage and ending mileage for each tank.

now.... lets get attachments here to see who's spreadsheet is the best looking/functional. :D (some people might be too lazy to make one)

++++++++++++++++

Really talented folks can make on for imperial miles per gallon, or litres per 100 km :bigok:

I track this information on my Treo 650 in a little Palm application called Auto Buddy. I keep track of fuel mileage, maintenance costs, etc... I also have a 3 column accounting record book to record the same information as well as purchases for the truck. Might come in handy someday. yep - you can find my picture next to obsessive/compulsive in the dictionary! :cool:

The maintenance records are handy. Used them to help sell the last couple of vehicles. And, by tracking the costs, you can easily figure out when it's costing you more to keep the old one running than a new one would cost.
