This is my first post on this forum so be easy on me. I'm posting because we have in issue with our 2005 4Runner's heat. This is our hand me down work vehicle which has the V-8 with all the bells and whistles & 185K on the clock. It's been a great vehicle so far and the engine runs just as smooth and powerful as the day it came off the line. It has the dual zone digital climate control which we have an issue with the heat being on full hot all the time. It doesn't matter if the digital temp is set at 65 or 80 it still feels like full hot. What we did notice is that if you move the temp down from 65 to LO you can hear a vent changing position and the temperature goes down. It will do this independently on either side or together on both sides. The AC will still blow cold when you move that temp down to LO. The fan still works properly and so do the different air direction settings (defrost, feet, normal, etc). We are thinking it may be some kind of sensor or resistor that has failed. Has anybody else here had the same experience or know a good way to search for a similar problem with a solution on this forum.
