funky TRD Pro

The scarier thing than that 50k price is the buyer that gets a couple grand knocked off and feeling like they got a great deal... someone will buy it when negotiating payments rather than price. :fear:

I bought a TRD Crewmax in at the beginning of 2012 that was a 2011, decked out like this. They wanted 52.... I walked out the door with it for 42,500. Told them it was their fault for not knowing the local market and I wasn't going to pay for the extras.

Yep. Nice find. Guess my TEP is worth 59K now!:trophy:

The funny part back when I was debating on a TEP vs. a TRD and getting annoyed with the availability of the later, this dealer said they could "help me build one." Don't need that kind of help!

Same here! They told me that it was better than the TRD Pro...better suspension, blah, blah...they were charging $1700 for the lift alone!

Exactly, I picture the sales guy saying something like "Its only the cost 15 cups of Starbucks coffees a day more than a stock SR5." Then the person with poor math skills replies, "And only an 84 month payment plan? Where do I sign?"

I'm surprised my local dealer hasn't tried doing this stuff yet. They'd get alot of bites.

Honestly, if I did not do a ton of research and was not part of this site, folks would probably mark me as one of those dummies! Much more fun to do it yourself too!

I run my accessories division for my dealership and would not charge half as much for that stupid package.

They wanted 45k for a sr5 with a 3 inch lift and 285s when I was looking for one. I went to mountains states toyota and got one for 31k and added the lift and tires after. Dealership told me it was a 12k upgrade lol. Thank god for this site that taught me everything.

Per earlier, they wanted 50K for this one. Must have been the additional adds of plasti dipped emblem and tinted headlights and taillights for the extra 5K. :hippie:

I've seen several lifted 4Runners for sale at that dealer.

They always want FAR above and beyond what the most expensive shop would charge you for that work.

Then again the other COS dealer wanted close to 45K for a FJC with a lift and ARB bumper.

hurr durr

You're in Colorado, people, PM me if you need references on excellent 4x4 shops that will do excellent work for reasonable prices.

I got my 2015 TEP with KDSS for 38,500 at Stevinson East. No issues at all and great to deal with.

For a lift install, I went with Smooth Ride. It's literally two or three shops away from Toytec, where I got my lift from. Toytec themselves recommended them, and I think it was either $400 or $500 to have the entire lift installed.

At all the dealers around here they had spacer lifts and 285s for 6-8k additional cost. For a lot of folks the only thing that matters is the monthly payment and if they can get that sweet over priced setup within their payment needs they go for it.

Yup SR5 blacked out, wonder what suspension they put on it.

These dealers do this a lot, mark up the accessories 200-300%, people obviously fall for it.

You see it a lot on Ebay with Tundra's too.
