fuse 39 goes pop

Greets...
I haven't posted anything for a few years because Toyota makes good stuff!
But the other day the power windows and door locks on my 2000 4Runner blew the big expensive 30A fuse. At $7.50 a pop, I really don't want to keep buying fuses.
The question is, has anyone else had this problem?
My guess is a dead short somewhere, but where?
I live way off the beaten track with a 3 mile long bush road for a driveway, so it definitely gets a workout a couple of times a week going to and from work.
Before I blow an entire Sunday tracking this down I'm hoping someone else can point me in the right direction..

What makes you think that it was your power windows and door locks that blew the fuse? That fuse is used for a bunch of things, so any more information you can provide about the specifics of what happened will be helpful in troubleshooting your problem.

If you are suspecting your power windows and door locks as the cause. check the wiring in the driver side door jam boot along with all the other doors and tailgates. These wires are notorious to break and short in the Driver door and Tailgate areas especially.

Granted it could be anything on that is underneath the 30 amp fuse causing and really may have to starting tracing and digging to find it.

I honestly have no idea what is causing it. All I know is that my door locks and windows are kaput.
As for specifics, the only thing I did was move it on the property one afternoon and they haven't worked since.

So I finally have a day off and instead of sitting by a campfire with a beer I'm dismantling my Yota...
I unplugged all of the power door locks and window regulator switches and it's still shorting out.
Here's a weird one, I jerry rigged a couple of wires with spade connectors so I don't have to keep blowing the expensive fuses. I had a bunch of fuses left over from another project so I plugged one in, and it didn't blow. I went into the house for bit and as I was walking towards the thing, I heard a pop, and it blew the fuse... Nothing was on, car wasn't running, it hasn't moved since yesterday when I got home.

I don't have:
Wireless door locks, Power seats, Multiplex Communication System, or a moon roof, so I'm completely baffled. And I have to be back at work tomorrow so it would be nice to have it figured out and fixed!

And I don't want to crack open a beer yet!

zzPower door locks work without the ign on hence the pop they are always hot. Check the wires in the kick panel for open wires or shorts also test the relay( rarely goes bad )if that's good then test wires up stream.
