G. Zimmerman

Wow!

Seriously? What kind of person makes assumptions....then chastises others for doing the same?

I suggested you educate yourself about the case as you clearly do not know the facts that have been presented in the court, which has been the basis for most of the educated / non-trolling posts and responses in this thread. We can all have a much more productive conversation when everyone is educated to the most recent information available instead of month old news headlines and media talking points...which people from both sides of the story acknowledge are inaccurate.

I'm sorry my direct response has moistened your tear ducts, but it is not my job to educate you.

Am I wrong about this?

Wow!

No one can be certain of what happened since we weren't there.

That's what Ive been saying, but a few here, think they know something that most don't. just another "know it all"

Whether someone is a "pansy" or not is irrelevant. If you feel like your life is being threatened, you can certainly use deadly force. And every person's definition of "threatened" is different.
AMEN... if I was in that situation, I would have unloaded in his face... I will protect myself, PERIOD.

You know this is a pretty sh/tty comment ndcent. What is your problem, always race baiting but apparently for the left. You're like an inverse Thai.

Yep, that he is, he has proven it time and time again.

You have my attention - tell me how I'm wrong.

What's the point? Read you previous post and see how you berate someone you only judge by posting a question "was it self-defense"?
I think it's a legitimate response to the OP's "What are your thoughts?" (Read post #1).
My determination of whether guilty or not is whether GZ acted in self-defense or not. Like the OP, I think he is NOT GUILTY of murder in the 2nd degree and I'm still on the fence on the manslaughter charge. No need to name calling, I only expect a high-level of conversation.

Um....who's called you any names? Certainly wasn't me.

What do you call taking action (or countermeasures) against someone when they're straddling you and beating you in the face, i.e. causing you harm?

I'm wondering how you guys that are so upset over this case feel about the Aaron Hernandez case? In that case, there is a white-hispanic male that shot and killed a black male. Self defense was not an issue...it was an execution-style killing.

I don't expect a response....after all, it would probably be better served by having its own thread.

For you guys that have been saying this all along.....

The Zimmerman Jury Is Better Able to Judge His Fate Than You

Commending who posted critically

As the last link states in the article we (the population) didn't get everything. There is so much we didn't see because we are not in the court room. At the end of the day no matter what we have to give credit to the judicial system. In many places people are not even given a fair chance and they would have already been rotting in jail. I can personally attest to this because I have worked in Iraq to help build a legal system there. I have toured the infamous Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Lady's and gentlemen I can tell you first hand we are lucky! I listen to people beg me for help and to even have chance at a trial that we are afforded in the United States.

This case will be talked about on both sides for a long time. The issue about race will play a factor. I can give my opinion about it but I won't. I commend everyone for being able to effectively communicate on this topic I posted. The ones that showed what asses they are, please refrain from a civil debate or topic like this next time if it is not in a constructive manner.

Blue :biggrin2:

Are you sure he was even charged with aggravated assault? Also doesn't reasonable doubt still apply for manslaughter?

That was one of the possible charges, but I see today that it wasn't actually charged.

I believe for manslaughter, you need to show that a person "wrongly" killed someone. Reasonable doubt is the standard of proof for every criminal case, but if they conclude that it was self-defense, I don't think it matters because with self-defense, there's usually no choice but to defend oneself.

But then again, I'm not Jackie Childs, Attorney-at-Law.

Contrary to what BrianSD_42 and in support of what zopperman said, I heard on talk radio earlier today that the prosecutor has the burdeon of proving negligence in Florida.

I'm not sure now.....off to read further.

No. In a manslaughter case in state of FL the burden is on the prosecution to PROVE Z did NOT act in self-defense. That is a difficult burden of proof.

Dude there must be a communication breakdown because I was saying that the state has the burden of proof requirement to show it was not self defense.

So your comment (from the radio) and my comment from the newspaper are in agreement.

I must've misremembered your comments.

Dude may have well called Martin a ****** with his no class "slave" jab.

Way to go T4R moderation!!

One more thought, when you can't beat em, ban em. Typical lib move to take something out of context, put words in somebodies mouth and then want to have them moderated or banned. Classic lib behavior.

Dont take this too personal though, I am just taking a page out of your book......
Nothing too personal. It's fun to push buttons

Days later and I'm still on your mind, cupcake? That's super cute.

I'm not advocating you be banned, but your racist comment does highlight the poor moderation here.

And for your hilljack assumptions, I've never voted for a democrat.

One can be both a moderate conservative/libertarian AND disagree with the racially profiling and murdering of someone - try it sometime, Jed.

Don't flatter yourself pumpkin, I'm at a wedding and I'm bored. I'm glad you responded though because I have asked multiple times for you to let us know what evidence you've seen to feel the way that you do about GZ being a racial profiler and murderer but you have yet to answer it. Look forward to hearing what you have to say

HELL YES.... I was wrong, Id thought for sure he would time for something, just from the Rodney king riots.. Im sooo freaking glad....
