Gas Smell @ Idle

Well I was pulling a small trailer last night picking up a new swing set for my daughter and the CEL came one, p0171 today at Advance Auto, think this may be the issue guys? Of course getting my MAF out one of the screws is stripped, I'll see if I can deal with it later tonight when I can get that part of the airbox to my shop where my easy out is.

So i think cleaning the MAF helped big time and was my problem, it have been getting about 18mpg recently, thank god, just in time for gas prices to go back up!!

it's getting cold out again guys, guess what problem is back.....any thing i should look at to replace, a seal or something, only does it when it is cold out....

fuel injector seals. Pretty sure that's it. You won't see actual "leaks" around them, but when the engine is on and they are under pressure, they leak just enough to cause the gas smell. They don't cost much to replace the seals, just takes some time to get to them.

the thing is that i only get the smell once it is cold outside, its not a year round problem

Fuel injector O-ring. It's unfortunate you don't have a CEL to determine which one.
