so why 265/70 instead of 275/65?? heavily considering doing a 275/65 or even 70 profile in the BFG. May even try to squeeze a 285/65 if it has a better chance than 275/70

I liked them a lot, they had 36,000 miles and 12/32nds (3/4) tread left.
I don't want the width of a 275/65, the 265/70 is actually taller than the 275/65. I don't want 285s, my 4runner felt too weak and sluggish with 275/70R17 so I'm not going back to that until I'm spending less time on the highway. Then I'll probably get a spare set of 285/75R16 MTs.

Ahh I understand now haha... So far I'm happy with these RH-S's, I would like something a bit more aggressive but they ride well and are quiet. I agree the Dueler HT's aren't good, I had several flats on mine and finally just gave them away because one couldn't be patched.

The 275/70 17 BFG A/Ts have reduced the quick acceleration ability of my V8 4Runner, but I'm okay with that because in 7 months, my son turns 16. Now I just have to worry about him running over a Miata or something.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I really want some different tires but for now these will do, I'm saving for some BFG ATs but may go with something different by the time I have enough saved.

edit- I really wanted to the first time I went but I didn't. You wouldn't have done it this weekend, that thing was flowing faster than I've ever seen due to the rain.

Nah...if all goes well by Dec, there will be a new AWD sedan with a supercharged V6 from Germany sitting in my garage. Can't get a coupe since I have 3 kids.
The concern about my son running over a Miata with the 4Runner is due to the number of people (especially teens) in this area who have modded Miata's. The Miata craze here is insane. When the Dallas Miata club shows up to Cars and Coffee, there's not much room for the exotics to park. The only Miata that ever impressed me was one that rumbled by as I was photographing cars at C&C...the guy had dropped a V8 into his Miata.

There are more of those V8 Miatas out there than you might realize. They are amazing cars! I hope to have my 347 cubic inch Miata running in the near future... triple the horsepower and triple the torque while only gaining about 220lbs!
And now, back to the Gaterose Build Thread! Sorry about that... didn't realize we had highjacked a thread!
