Paint the new ones Bronze ........DO IT!!:boink:
Why don't you paint yours gold?

I'll keep it in mind, but most likely they'll be getting a different gun metal coat if anything. Similar to my other wheels but more of a traditional gun metal that isn't so dark. Elsewise they'll remain silver.

I looked around a little bit and didn't have much luck, but how hard is it to swap the 03 lights to the 06, do you have to switch ballasts or do they just plug in and they work? And other than the triangle spot left near the grill, do you have to mod the hood or fender where the lights go?

I really liked the gunmetal on your truck man it was the perfect mix for your ride.
Just saw this, thanks again man! Yeah I really liked the gunmetal too but was starting to get tired of the color as it came out darker than what I wanted. I liked it fine at first but eventually it got old. I am thinking about investing in the gunmetal plastidip and spraying these but I'm not sure I want to change these yet.

Yes, sometimes the forum can be a bit difficult to navigate especially when trying to search small terms like '06' or 'fj' and compound terms like headlight (vs. head light, head lamp, headlamp, or even projector) or coil springs (vs. coils, coilsprings, just springs, etc.) but I know it's out there because I've personally posted the following information several times here, and I myself found the info here.

Anyway, it's really very easy to do the swap. If you want '06 lamps you will need the trim beneath the headlight as it's shaped differently than the '03 lamps. That usually costs about $30/ea from somewhere like toyotapartszone.com, sorry I don't have a part number but I'm sure you can find it if you search. You can order it already painted to match your 4Runner or you may get lucky (like me) and find a lamp that includes the trim piece then paint it yourself with $7 duplicolor OEM match rattle can.

If you keep halogen bulbs you'll need to buy an h11 socket for the new housing and clip & splice, if you use HID you'll need to buy an H11 HID kit. So far every HID kit I've seen uses a 9006 connector that is upside down, so things will be pretty much plug and play there.

If you want the turn signal to work you'll need to buy the wiring harness for that which was about $28 if I remember (don't have a part number for that either but the number is somewhere around here on the forum). It includes the socket for the 194 parking light and 1156 signal/DRL bulb. It's not necessary though, you can use your original parking light socket (it's a little loose but twists tight) if you want and I would recommend taping or otherwise covering the bulb hole for the blinker. It does look cool IMO with all 4 signals lit with DRLs or having 2 blink when turning.

Then you have the triangle, but you already know about that. No bumper, grille, fender, or hood modifications otherwise.

Thanks JediWebDude! I'm actually getting LCA skids that will be red as well as soon as BAMF sends em.

I couldn't handle the P-rated duelers so I once again changed shoes...

whered you source those wheels man? i want those bad!

I found them at a local used tire place that didn't know what they had and traded my others for em.

A lot of people (including momo) have found them on craigslist. At one time about a year ago I found 3 sets within 2 hours for $350-450

Glad you like em
