Zach talked me into getting a light bar like his; it came today so I put it on.
He said he didn't have this problem on his '06, but on my '03 I ended up having to completely remove the bumper to attach it. It wasn't hard to remove, but there was no way I was getting a nut on the bolt, or a wrench on the nut for that matter, without removing the bumper due to a plastic reinforcing piece beneath the area where I mounted it.
Anyway, onto what everyone wants to see- the pictures.
Mounted
First time it was turned on (still full daylight outside)
All night shots were taken with 18mm, f/9, 2" shutter speed, & ISO 800 and are unedited.
Lows + fogs
Lows + Highs
Lows + Highs + LED bar (the dirt wall in the far back is about 4-500 yards away)
View from the front
edit - The pics don't do it justice but do show a good comparison. In reality, the dirt wall barely visible in the pic was well lit to my eye.

At this price range I don't know if a group buy is necessary! I was very doubtful about the output and starting to regret selling my old lights before it came. But once it got dark my regrets were replaced with amazement...
I just can't believe how much light this thing puts out... It's a 'spot pattern' but it's unreal how much brighter everything, both near and far, is.

What do you mean? I mounted it on the bumper and wired it to one of the switches for my for my old lights..
It was a little less than $350 with shipping and snicker bar fees.

Thanks Scott! I actually got it from a member here (zstampe) but I they're also available (at a slightly higher cost) on trailworthyfab.com.
Don't worry I plan to but I have to save some money first! I think I'm actually going to do a 12" bar & two 6" bars on each side because I don't like the way the 40" bars look behind the vertical bars on the Gobi. I think it looks better to do 3 lights flush with those bars the way a lot of the 5th gen guys are doing.
Thanks a lot!! That was actually one of my first long exposure shots. I wish I'd had an ND filter so the front of the 4runner wouldn't be so washed out.

One more thing - as an update to the thread I cut my back mudflaps off again. Sorry for wasting your shipping money Austin! Hope you're enjoying the flaps I sent you! (even though I know you haven't installed them and are in fact trying to give 'em to Magert in his thread)

yeah, i found no use for them, they scrubed at full crush so i just left them in the box figured i'd find someone one here looking for some trimmed ones lol. I didnt even know you had cut yours again yet but I figured it wasnt gonna be long, better road grime on your qaurter panel than hideous mud flaps. no worries i think we both wasted a little shipping money on that one oh well live an learn

More modifications to the cargo area made today. Still trying to get things sorted out since I removed the cargo drawer/sub box system.
Finally got around to making something to cover the gap left from the double decker shelf. I need a piece of rubber or thin plastic to fill the small gap under the tow hook cups but I didn't have anything at home and rain was on it's way so I'll fix that later.
I also relocated the walkie talkies so they're not in direct sunlight and tried a new spot for the flashlight & tripod mount. I should've put the flashlight on the side of the box facing the hatch but I screwed up and made the box slightly too big for that.
Also trimmed the cargo mat to fit with the sub box.
