We were actually supposed to be at a wedding in Knoxville on Saturday, but the road out was closed and without power the girls couldn't get ready.

I will have to keep you in mind next time I'm up that way, didn't realize how close Knoxville and Gatlinburg are!

Did you all just come up for wedding? Or stay a few days longer? There are TONS of cabins closer to Knox! But I'm sure it was fun being trapped in, fire and playing!

did the moog fj 4x4 springs do a good job with the extra weight? I haven't figured out what kind of supsension to go with when I get a bumper and I'd much rather keep my bilsteins and swap the coils to beefier ones. Also how did you got about color matching your bumper? (Did you do it yourself, spray/paint)

Yeah, the springs are much stiffer and as you can see from the pictures the front end is still higher than before even after adding the bumper and winch.

I ordered a couple spray cans from automotivetouchup.com. First I used green etching primer, then grey filler primer, sanded a bit, then I spray several coats of cheap white paint from Home Depot to get cover up the dark primers. Then I used about a can and a half of the ATU color match paint. Followed that with a can of their high gloss clear coat.

That's them. I think I got mine from RockAuto but it may have been Amazon.

Titanic is cool for about 5 mins, then it gets old. Wonderworks, (upside down building) isn't much better so good choice missing that lol.

I have several dollywood tickets I would have been glad to give you, but little too late for that!

it'll probably start a flame war, but i like the color match a lot better than a big black bumper up there. looks rugged and classy.

Wow...stay off of here a few months and everything changes. Love the new look. I've always been a fan of color matched bumpers. Of course, it isn't very hard to color match mine.

BTW, have you ever made it up this way for any biking? I've still got to come down there to Oak Mtn and Cold Water.

Thanks man! I'm still pretty excited about it. I still grin when I walk out of a store or somewhere and see it sitting there with the bumper on.

No I haven't, I haven't had time for much of anything this summer or fall. Hopefully next spring/summer things will be a little calmer.

Spent some TV time cutting and splicing my old, worn winch rope over the last few weeks.

After removing the bad parts I was able to salvage 20' and 25' winch extensions, a 10' tree saver, and three soft shackles. Also salvaged enough chafe guard to at least cover the eyes.

Was a little nervous about my splices and stitching but they held up well to pulling some shrubs. Not as much weight as pulling a stuck vehicle but more weight should make the splices stronger (since they work like Chinese finger traps) and the rest of the line will be the weaker link.

Repurposed a cordless tool case as a recovery rope bag.

Better look at my swanky faux chain chafe guard.

Got the roof waxed and the rack back on. Most of the wiring for the lights is done but I still have to finish wrapping the wires on the roof since it started raining on me.

2x Hanma 36W 7.5" combo, 1x 72W 13.5" spot

What do your brackets look like? As you said the standard brackets don't quite line up with the Gobi rack. I want to mount my lights so they lineup like yours.

Love your truck man. Question for you tho. Why did you choose to use stock FJ springs in the back instead of using MOOG like you did for the fronts? Thanks in advance.
