Gauging interest, Canyonlands Utah, Mid May 2015

I'd love to go but have never been there. I can't imagine it being too difficult to navigate though. I've been to Arches NP, Capitol Reef, and Deadhorse Point which are all in Utah. I have many maps on the area including White Rim Trail. Average temps at that time are in the 80s which would be nice.

There's a good chance I could make it over there for a weekend as I'm only a couple hours away. What difficulty trails are you looking for? White Rim Trail is an epic overnight trip, but be sure to get reservations well ahead of time as the good spots get taken fast. Elephant Hill in the Needles district is another awesome trail, one of my favorites in the area. Its more technical and there are camping spots out there too. The trails in Moab are endless, just depends how crazy you wanna get! Definitely get the guidebook by Charles Wells for detailed descriptions of every trail there.

Thanks for the replies guys. As far as how difficult I wanna get would depend on the experience and amount of people going on the trip. Nothing too hairy, but I'd like to do some offroading. My truck is lifted on 32's and has sliders currently but by May I'll have front and rear plate bumpers, a winch, and hopefully skids. I have seen some awesome trip reports and plan on going through them to make an itinerary for the trip. I plan on driving down in 1 day, spending 2-3 days exploring, then driving back.
I am open to suggestions as far as time line as long as it falls between the 17th-27th timeline.

At minimum I was planning on going last weekend in may (or thereabouts) for the next Tacoma Rock Therapy, but an all runner trip would be pretty nice and would do that instead if there was a decent group.
Would love to do Elephant Hill and also want to do Hurah Pass and maybe on a mellow day hunt out the ruins in Beef Basin. Even a day up into La Sal mountain (also mellow) to cross something else off my list.

I'll put up more details the closer it gets. I'd be down for any exploring/sightseeing/wheeling in that area. It looks amazing.

Update!
I figured I would throw an update in to let people know my schedule. My plan is to be leaving home on Sunday the 17th, driving down to San Fran and staying the night with friends. Monday the 18th I'll be driving down to the San Diego area to spend the evening and next day with family down there. So possibly heading up the 15 through Las Vegas on the 19th. Then through St. George Utah and over to Canyonlands on the 20th. From there I am pretty open for at least 3-4 days. After Canyonlands it will be a long drive home over 2-3 days. I am stoked, but damn that is a lot of driving!

FYI the drive from San Diego to Moab is only 10-11 hours so plenty doable in a single day. Unless you wanted to see something around St George (Like Zion maybe?)

Sweet! That would be great. I've never been out to see the sights in Utah so having someone that knows their way around would be awesome. I'm actually going to be staying in Fallbrook with family so pretty dang close to Escondido! I would totally be up for a convoy.
There may be a couple local Utah guys that ware talking about heading out to show me around so it would be cool to have a decent sized group.
