Looking to do some wheeling come this spring and around warmer weather. Currently located in Paulding Country, Acworth.

Being a moderately experienced off-roader, are there any dedicated trail systems/off-road destinations worth the travel? 40-60 mile radius? I'm willing to travel an hour or so for somewhere good to take my rig.

No 4x4 only stuff and mudding attractions. Just some good uneven rocky trails to accommodate an adventurer like myself.

I'm in Cumming and I've been meaning to make a trip up to Tray Mountain Road near Helen. It's supposed to be a good spot for beginners, which suits me. The most off-roading I've done is the gravel road through my in-laws' neighborhood.

That said, the comments here (Tray Mountain (Georgia) | Jeeps on Trails) seem to indicate that there are routes for "moderately experienced" folks to enjoy too.

Also Beasley Knob is pretty fun. It's two hours away but has some pretty crazy stuff. Can't wait til march.

There are some pretty great forest service roads up north. Im in Cherokee and I've done a few of them they are worth the drive. In Cartersville there is Pine Log WMA where there are some good trails I've heard.

Went up to Tray Mountain Road last year and it was fun. Nothing too challenging, it's basically a fire road for the most part. Great scenery.
