I completely forgot I created this thread 16 years ago. And 16 years later here I am still driving a 4th gen. I’m in Marietta now (east Cobb) but moved quite a few times in Cobb throughout the last 16 years.

New 3rd Gen Owner in Smoke Rise
I'm at that age when I've started buying things I wanted as a young'un but couldn't afford. So a few weeks ago I picked up a '02 SR5, as bare-boned an example as I could find, with 120K miles. And I've named her Baby 'Yota. Not the first person to make this pun, I'm sure, but I still get a kick out of calling her that. She's not 4wd, and that's OK because rock crawling ain't my thang. So far I've just done piddly stuff -- pulled off that gawd-awful fake wood trim; upgraded a bunch of the lights to LEDs; painted the grill, wiper arms, and bumpers satin black (FLA sun had faded the shite out of all of them); and installed a SWEET pioneer touch-screen head unit, backup camera, and Viper alarm. I also have the parts to do the Taco Whip antenna swap and am just waiting for some warmer weather to tackle it, since I plan to combine the project with upgrading the rest of the interior lights and painting the trim while I have it pulled out. But then I'll be getting into the more serious stuff -- W13 brake upgrade, TREs, ball joints, an assortment of bushings, and maybe (but hopefully not) the steering rack. Now normally, I would do all this myself so I could practice my curse words and make up some new ones. But I've sort of shot myself in the foot, garage-wise. Remember how I said I was buying stuff I wanted when I was young? Well, that now includes a project (i.e., not currently drivable so she has to stay indoors) 1965 Imperial Crown Coupe that takes up so much real estate in my garage that there is not enough left to do any serious mechanic sh!t. So I said all that to say this -- can any of you fine, upstanding folk recommend a trustworthy shop or independent mechanic in the metro-ATL area who wouldn't mind me providing my own parts? I already have the Power Stop Z36 kit sitting in my dining room. It represents the only tricky bit because it will require trimming the dust shields. Other than that, it will be OEM hard parts and Energy Suspension bushings. Thanks, Y'all!
