How "hard" is the trail? If I break something, I'm toast. I haven't offroaded in, jeez, since 1999 (Poconos: Paragon off road park, near Hazleton, PA). Less chance for damage, the better................. wow, sorry, I sound like a p**sy.

there is nothing so hard that you dont feel comfortable doing that you dont have to. i know most people fear breaking stuff. you'll be surprised how well your 4th gen does offroad
 
Can everyone indicate if they are CB equipped too?

I'd definitely say that this trail will be a challenge for a stock 4r. It's doable, but ther are a few water crossings (nothing too too bad) and there's pewp water everywhere. There are a few tricky hill climbs, but again nothing you can't do. and worst case, you get winched. There are 2 REALLY muddy spots, at least last time they were really muddy, may be more dry this time. There are usually go arounds for most difficult obstacles. It would be nice to have a winch front and back of the group and we will take it SLOW for the stock guys and they will be just fine :thumb3:

yea I have a cb and I can trail lead but honestly there's some trails I know then others I don't and usually when I go out with my normal guys we just keep making turns and taking trails no matter the result haha. I know a lot of guys worry about brush burn, breaking, and getting stuck so there's plenty of trails that are
wide open and mild enough I've seen 2wd trucks go down.
 
I'll be honest, been going to the same spots in Wharton for a couple years and wouldn't be much use where this trip is going in. As for stock trucks, they are fun to watch go through the trails.

What I can help with is any breakage(hopefully none) can be fixed at my parents house in me and my dads garage, just gotta I push my rx7 out lol. I also have a friends with trailers so no worries.

Cool man. I don't think anyone is opposed to wide open and good trails.

Which trails are you thinking? Shoot me a PM if you don't want it public. The one I was thinking is semi-legal..

i'd definitely like a bit of a challenge, that's why I suggested the one that I did last time. called "the mountain" if you know it.
 
Hey guys... thanks for the link!

What would one expect to see in early February? Will there be some sandy-mud or will it mostly be a bunch of snowy trails... it's looking like we're due for some big snow falls this winter, especially in that region.

Either way, I think me and the wife are game for some fun - just curius to know what we're looking at so we can pack accordingly.

Plus, it's nice reading that you have the ability to opt out of any trail that may do some harm to your rig. I would also hate the break something 3 hours from home and in the dead of a NJ winter.

Hopefully the ground will be frozen a bit. better traction than the really loose dirt. I think that we will be running stock-friendly trails (so it seems) and I would not expect any serious damage

I had to laugh when you posted "not expecting any serious damage"... that's so reassuring! No worries, I'm always game for a little excitement when we're out playing in the snow.

I'll keep in touch as we get closer to the time - I may end up grabbing a hotel room nearby so we don't have to drive back to Harrisburg after wheeling all day. That is, if new-comers are also welcome to tag along for the ride? I guess I should have asked that question before inviting myself, huh?!

I pulled this from the tire and lift central thread... I hope it's enough to make it through?! I added the pics for a visual, too.

2" Ironman - 1/2" shock/spring spacer - 1" Daystar spacers
Rear Lift: 2" Ironman (netted 2.5") - 1.5" Day spacers

Front Height: 40" street to center fender.
Rear Height: 42" street to center fender.

HaHa... Not intentionally! That's a beauty you have there, too.

I'm actually running 3.5/4.0 on my 07. I'm using the 2.0 Ironman in the rear, which ended up measuring out to 2.5" - then I tossed on a Daystar 1.5 spacer, which measured out at 1.50". It gave me that factory rake all over again! :tsk:

Yeah, it sets pretty tall all the way around. I am, however, going to install a set of 3/4" UHMW blocks in the front - and then taper them down to nothing as I get towards the rear of the truck. The tapered B/L will give me enough clearance to drop in some 305-70-16's and set almost level again. I did a tapered B/L lift on my '71 Bronco and it worked out super well! And I've already performed the front body-mount chop, so I currently have no rubbing issues fully stuffed at any wheel. BUT, I really need some new UCAs before heading into the larger tires - that mod will definitely come before the 305's.

Same to you, man! I absolutely love your truck and the rims; I just couldn't afford those rims when I bought my lift(s)/rims/tires set-up last month... I just got this particular 4Runner at the end of August. And the silver over black is a super sweet color combination, as you know - then I added some green & yellow TRD decals to spice it up a little.

Here's a shot before I added the rear spacers (with the exact same lift up front). Too much rear squat for my liking...
