Well, finally joined the RTT club. After months of waiting, I finally got the GFC Superlite. As soon as it became available for presale I jumped on it because of the weight and profile (and price!). At only 80lbs I can hardly tell it's on the roof, and I don't notice a considerable loss in mpg's either.

It's definitely a minimal design, but the quality is great. Mounting the tent to the Prinsu rack wasn't the most glamorous job, but it wasn't hard. Just wedging your hands under the rack is a little tricky. Going forward I can now just unbolt the two crossbars to remove the tent, so it'll be quick and painless going forward.

The mattress is very comfortable and reminds me of Exped Megamats that are a hybrid of foam and air. There is plenty of room for two adults in the tent and it sure beats sleeping on the ground. All 3 sides unzip so it's very easy to get the temp and airflow dialed. My only complaint is there isn't a great way to hold open the rain fly without being rolled up. GFC includes some string to tie it out, but that's not ideal.

I've already started to work on a solution for the rain fly, and it's very similar to what a few guys (@Shittco) are doing for GFC campers. I've made mounts that bolt to my Prinsu rack and they hold ARB tent poles that will hold open the flys. I've already made and sold a couple sets to folks with the same setup I've got. Unsure yet if it works for any other racks.

Stoked to get out on more camping trips this spring and summer, and also dialing in the setup. Next will be sorting out a better solution for the latter. It currently just leans against the tent.
