I doubt you'll find any good reviews here, generally accepted as bogus claims that succeed only in separating you from some hard earned cash.
 
Exactly what I was thinking. Seems to good to be true for 70 bucks. They do have a money back guarantee so maybe next paycheck I will see what it's all about. And just maybe it could be something good.
 
Go to the EPA's website. They've tested many gadgets that claim to increase gas mileage and/or performance. The chips have been PROVEN to be a waste of money. You may get SOME power gains at the high rpm range..they do it by sacrificing gas mileage.

How do you like your UDP MAF-Cal? Can one see the same results for the V8 runners? up to 15whp/2-3mpg increase? I've only seen them available for V6 models is why I ask...perhaps I'm answering my own questions...

Yes as far as I know URD only tunes them for the V6. If you had the software to flash the calibrator and the brains to know what your looking for I imagine its possible to run on a v8. As far as perormance gains I have no hard number ie dyno or track times. But when paired with their TCAI I can definitely feel a noticeable. Maybe 10hp and 2-3 mpg. The sound/growl is what I enjoy the most!
 
About as useful as a throttle body spacer or a Tornado for your intake which both do absolutely nothing for our trucks.
 
My old roommate put a similar chip on his chevy, only to have it blow his MAF and screw up his timing really badly. we took the chip apart and it was just a cheap resistor in a fancy plastic housing. ive heard of plenty of 'performance' mods that do nothing, but it surprised me that this one actually did damage. ended up costing him a couple hundred bucks to get his truck back to spec

just something that makes great claims that generally don't do crap.

this is something like that. Just a resistor in a fancy box.

I know a trick that used to be done on fuel injected police cars to increase performance at the flip of a switch. It may not apply anymore with redundant system checks from multiple sensors though...

Dont ya just loved closed minded people :lmao: unless you have tried the actual product the OP asked about then done assume, its the same as all the rest.
Saying this, is like all the rest is like saying all black people are on welfare, all mexicans are illegals etc etc.
Dont get me wrong, Im not believing it will do what is says, but Im not going to say, its like all the rest, who knows, this one might work lol.

^^ it doesn't. it's a resistor in a fancy box. I'm talking specifically about the "Gforce Chip"

OP, save that money for a tank of gas.

I don't need to use it to understand what it is, the theory behind it, and why it is not an option.

Remember that trick I mentioned about the police cars? pretty much the same thing. it's only good for a short amount of time though, hence my inclusion of the switch.

Plain and simple, it sends an "edited" signal to the computer from the air intake circuit input by changing the voltage with a resistor. It makes the engine think that it is colder outside than it really is. since colder air is more dense, the engine can get more of it and will add more fuel to make up for the extra air. The same can be done with the coolant temp sensor.

Why does it not work then? The 02 sensor will read that the engine is constantly rich and adjust for it. You might notice something for a little bit. On something like a chase where the extra power is needed, it's not long enough to affect long term fuel trim (LTFT) as it gets shut off after the chase.

For the record, I walked into the classroom once and saw this kid had ordered one. He had to fight to get his money back.

Here's what it looks like. You could build one of these without the fancy little box for under a dollar:

edit: note that there are several variations of these out there attempting to fool people that may know how to spot a resistor, but not a microprocessor on a printed circuit board. it's all the same though.

Any pictures of your URD intake installed? I don't think I've ever seen anyone throw it on a 4Runner.
