Goat Armor

Finally installed the Goat armor. Had it sitting around for over a year. Install was basically simple. Cut outs were good with no use of knife needed to remove it. Well its been on a few hours and its still on after a drive. Will update later on how it works offroad. Ended up getting Purple haze just to add some colour. Colour looks best in the sun, the second pic shows it not in direct sunlight which makes it look dull. Its quite bright in colour otherwise, its also the matte finish.

Did a jump today..got maybe 10 feet of air.distance. KINGs soaked up the bounce like it was going to the mall...

the GOAT magnets ARE still attached!

I actually passed some goats in a field while doing this.. so theres that? :evil:

I didn't realize they were magnets. they look really nice. how do you think they will do in the winter when the temperature of the metal gets below freezing - are you concerned about them falling off? or do you plan to remove them during winter?

I thought about these a lot at one time. It just seemed to be too much of a hassle to clean the truck near perfect prior to installation and then it is a very limited time you can keep them on the vehicle. Good to hear that you didn’t have a panel come off yet. I have had some light spider webbing before, but they rubbed out well. I would probably do something counter intuitive and put them on after my truck gets all scratched up as a wrap.
BTW, were those goats in the field the Maple Leafs?

Yeah I am going to remove them. Here it gets down past -40C sometimes, they will be brittle and likely fall off. Getting them on once you have the gap between panels lined up was pretty straightforward.

To me its a cheap temporary paint job and easier to remove than a wrap. I may wrap hood flat black though for glare from lightbar and ditch lights. But the wrap I would leave on till its shot.

Yeah, those guys. My favorite team growing up. My father was from Toronto. I went to Maple Leaf Gardens in ‘67 at 10. The last year they won the cup.

I would say $1000 to $5000+ but it depends on where you go and the wrap. I had a shop quote me to do a full ppf on the roof and they said it would be a few hundred $. keep in mind that was as shop that also did exotics etc and includes all the prep work. they just happened to be close to me so I called them. I decided not to do the ppf and didn't bother calling anyone else

Matte black does help, but if you really want to kill the glare then check out the 3M 2080 Matrix textured black vinyl. For a hood scoop it shouldn't cost too much more ($55 vs $70)

It's a fine enough texture that you can't tell it's something other than matte until close up

I like that looks nice, looks like one of the GOAT patterns. I dont have a hood scoop its just a regular high gloss black painted OEM hood. So maybe the matte wrap or other.
