Like many here, you probably received an email from Gobi, 15% off and a free ladder using code GBLK22.

I have a question though, all the racks for the 5th gens come with a ladder, so is there an option I'm missing or would we get a further discount? I know this is probably a question that Gobi could answer best, but I'm just wondering if anyone here has experience with this.

I think the 15% discount is the deal, as they always seem to offer a "free" ladder. The "free" ladder can be de-selected for $200 off.

Last week when I was looking I could deselect the ladder for $200 off. Doesn't seem so anymore and the price stays $1695. Would have been nice to get the $200 and the discount, but I guess beggars can't be choosers with Gobi. Still much cheaper than before and you can sell the ladder.

Well now, this is very odd. I checked the site when I saw the announcement this morning, and I could de-select the ladder. Now I can't. I wonder if the "free" ladder coincided with a $200 price increase, so $1695 now, but $1895 with a deselect option after Black Friday. So the ladder is free compared to later, but not so much when compared to yesterday.

I just want to better understand what the admiration, obsession and willingness to wait half a year with for Gobi? Never owned one and I'm sure quality is top notch, but in today's world with so many choices out there, many of which are similar in terms of quality and utility, why would anyone wait six months or longer to install something on their rig. So much can happen in that time frame.

I understand waiting 4-8 weeks, fine, but half a year, 9 months, and sometimes an entire year?

Again, not knocking Gobi at all, but what am I missing?
