Gobi Rack with Hard SHell Tent?

Ya definitely. They only have the double listed on their website right now, so when you call them up you can ask if they have any in stock. They did when I bought mine early this year. You'll be fine with that amount of weight up there. You'll definitely feel it though. I've got the gobi, tent, awning, solar panel, axe, shovel, road shower (empty usually). I definitely feel it but I haven't had problems on any terrain yet. I do fairly difficult terrain but I also know it's not a jeep nor a dedicated crawler rig haha.

Sorry to dredge up an older post but what awning do you have? I have the gzilla mounts and my tent is scheduled for deliver this week and just wondering if my taller 180 awning will still fit under the tent like you had yours.

I have a CVT Summit awning. There's not much room under the tent for the awning so if your 180 is taller than normal it might not fit. But you can always attach the awning to the side of the tent with CVT's mounts if it doesn't fit underneath.

I was worried you were going to say that. I got the medium so the overhang with the awning will most likely be too much with how tight a lot the trails are here.

That was my consideration for getting the 50". You might be able to manage it if you are aware of your width.

I've had my IKamper 2.0 4X on the Gobi for about 1.5 years.....I wanted a hard shell tent, but also a tent to fit the whole family. It has worked out well, no complaints.

I mounted mine just as satnightspl did above, using the front cross-bar & rear upper bar of the rack itself. Much easier to mount from the front and rear, due to how low profile the rack/minimum space.,

Do you mind telling me what awning bracket you used? My iKamper is on order and I am trying to figure out which awning and bracket will work with the iKamper / Gobi combo.

Thanks!

I used Gobi's own awning mount for the ARB awning I have. I just gave Gobi a call to order.

Good luck.
