-FULL DISCLOSURE -
I have not received any stipend, reward or discount from GOBI, I am not sponsored by GOBI, I have no affiliation with GOBI. The company has re-posted a couple of my Instagram photos & liked a few of my Instagram photos but that's it. I feel that I had enough interactions with the company to warrant sharing this.
-HORROR STORIES?-
I remember reading some stories on the forums here regarding GOBI's customer service & I figured I would share my story because it has some worth while events to note. I did not experience 'horror'.
-LEAD TIMES-
In my opinion - to gripe about 'lead times' is pointless and it gives unwarranted grief to companies. If the company makes a great product & has limited space/staff, they MIGHT have a lead time... if you don't like it - then don't purchase the product and complain about the lead time. Many reputable companies in the off roading business and many other trades do this & as long as their lead times are accurate - I have no beef and neither should you. I recall reading on here that some customers here on the forum were upset about not being able to get ahold of GOBI during their lead/build time, perhaps they just wanted an update on their order, perhaps they were getting impatient or perhaps they too wanted to modify their order that was already placed - I don't know.
My estimated lead time when I placed my order was 8-12 weeks. This was actually prolonged BY MY DOING because I modified my rack order after placing it (see below). Order placed 5/31/16 & delivered 9/12/16.
-ORDER DETAILS-
I placed my order on 5/31/16 directly to GOBI and I spoke with a very pleasant Sandra and I asked her to give me the heavy duty gas struts, Ladder and fairing for free with my stealth rack order & (after asking her manager) she did exactly that. No extra charge & my invoice sheet now had a couple more 'items' on it. Nonetheless GOBI still had authorization to charge me $1595.00 once the rack shipped. My order was for the GOBI stealth, removable crossbar, sunroof cutout, & LED 40" setup & aforementioned accessories. $1595 OTD.
-ORDER MODIFICATION-
I called AND modified my order on 6/24 because I decided I wanted a "NO-RISE" option in the front of my rack. Regardless of how far along my order was in the build process, I am still shocked that GOBI allowed me to do this, and their order form even states "ALL SALES ARE FINAL". Huge kudos to them for accommodating my request even though they charged me $150 for it. I felt it was worth it due to my needs for the rack. I was "that annoying customer" who decided to change his order after placing it - so they had every right to charge me the $150 & I have no complaints on that. At this time, gobi sent me an updated invoice with my new $150 fee addition and the note declaring the no-rise option. Sandra also told me that my request would push back my rack delivery time due to the order modification, I was totally fine with this, again - MY decision to modify an already placed order.
-SHIPPING-
9/1/16 Sandra emailed me to notify me that my rack had shipped & that my credit card would be charged and to 'please allow 5-10 business days for delivery & told me that the shipping company would contact ME on my phone once they were approaching a delivery day. Sure enough - I got a random phone call within about 3 days from the shipping company here in AZ & they gave me plenty of notice on different days and options for delivery. I asked for Monday September 12th, 2016 & they gave me a 2hr time frame on which to expect the delivery truck. They showed up right on time and two hard working, hairy, sweaty dudes helped me push it from my driveway into my garage. They were great & the shipping company in MY AREA was great. Again - I didn't even get charged for 'shipping' separately. The product arrived very well boxed up and packaged, everything was labeled and in its 'place'.
-PRODUCT-
The product is top-notch. You're not getting any corners cut when you pay $1500 for a GOBI rack in my opinion. No complaints; solid design, installation & hardware & a selling point for me was 'no drilling into my roof' for a full length rack design.
-RECENT FOLLOWUP-
I bought a light bar to mount on my no-rise stealth rack & after reading through some posts I realized GOBI 'may' send light bar brackets for front light bars with their orders. GOBI sent me 2- 10" rear light bar brackets for my rack when I received it but I did not get any hardware/brackets to mount a front light bar.

For about two consecutive days I tried calling GOBI to ask if they could send me a 40" light bar bracket for my old order but it went to voicemail and I decided not to leave a voicemail. I even went on Instagram and sent a DM to @gobiracks with my old order invoice number asking if they could send me a light bar bracket & they replied, telling me to email them at a specific contact to submit my request. I sent this person an email and never got a reply.

I called & got a phone answer to which I gave my request for them to send me a 40" light bar bracket for my "LED set-up" gobi stealth order in which I did not get a front light bar bracket (now an old order). The woman helping me asked for her managers permission & then asked me what specific size and brand light bar I needed to accommodate & then told me they would ship me one within 2 weeks due to lead times. I don't recall any order information or invoice noting that my rack would include a specific light bar bracket so this is probably something that you'd have to separately request upon ordering.

I received an email with FEDEX tracking info on my light bar brackets - estimated delivery Saturday 2/18/17. Currently awaiting delivery.
Thanks for reading. There are some other really great rack options out there but I ultimately chose GOBI for my own reasons and this was my experience.
