The wait maybe long, but I say that it is definitely worth the wait. For those who had received theirs, I am pretty sure that you are overwhelmed by the quality, and sturdiness of this rack. This is a beast, a solid beast.

PS. the Rigids are shipped separately, FYI. But when you receive your rack, you should have received your Rigids, or they should be on its way. Try to drop Trail Duty and email.

So quick question, are the cross bars think enough for attaching a thule(or similar brand) snowboard/ski racks too? Or has anyone tried something similar?

Im trying to find a proper rack that I can have the RTT on in summer, but ski racks in winter.

Cross-bars are good enough to attach thule/yakima ski/snowboard racks.

You DO NOT need a cross-bar to mount the RTT. You mount the RTT aluminum mounting bar horizontally (width of the car), and mount/bolt that directly to Gobi's side rail. That is a more secure way to mount the RTT especially if you have removable cross-bars.

I took this picture before my Gobi Rack, but you can see how you mount the RTT onto the Gobi the same way.

Does anyone know if the hood struts or other selected accessories are supposed to come separate?

With rear lights mounted how much does the ladder get in the way of the light beam? It seems the rear tab is pretty much right behind the ladder and since the rack is about 6 inches from the hatch it looks like its going to be a problem.

EDIT: Ooops wrong thread, My RAINGLER net showed up today for my GOBI rack... It's 4:00 Friday at work. My mind is elsewhere to say the least.....
