GOBI Roof Rack *Group Buy* Winter 2016

I'm not too bothered by the amount of time it is taking. What irritates me is that they tell me a ship date, then that date comes and goes with no explanation. Then a new ship date 1 week later is assigned. Then the same thing again. This makes 4 times.

I hear you. I have called twice today and both times it went direct to voicemail. I am number 18 and ordered Nov. 22. I was told end of February, then first week of March. Now, nothing. I get it, it was a group buy. However, if you, as a business, give lead times and time frames as part of the deal I expect you to stick with it. Something Gobi doesn't seem able to do. I really wonder if the $100 or so was worth saving?

Just received my invoice today. After begging them for an update. I ordered directly from Gobi and I am 3 on the list.

Negative. I did, however, send them an email asking what my next made-up shipment day would be. No response yet.

For those to plan on picking it up at the freight center, how do you plan on transporting it back home? I think I saw one member using a smaller trailer he had but what other options are you guys thinking?

Wow, the you all are describing the same experience I have been going through. OK, I get it, the group buy, the holidays, bad weather, have all created the delays. Just give me a real answer of when I am gonna get it. Pretty simple, really. I too have been told three different "for sure" dates.

And welcome to working with Gobi. Consistent delays and making up excuses. Like I said in the beginning I think their history should have been fully disclosed at the beginning of this group buy to fully make known their standard business practices.

I haven't been vocal on this thread but hey look on the bright side, at least we haven't paid upfront and waited over a year like the guys who bought a drabbits roof rack.

It wasn't just the holidays...I tried ordering a rack and ladder from them last year well before the holidays and their customer service is just bad. I won't buy from them...ever. I wish Pelfrey would starting making racks, they have great products and great customer service to back it up.

Unfortunately if Pelfrey did start making them Gobi being the patent troll they are will try shutting them down.

Does this mean you haven't paid for your rack as of yet? I was charged upfront (January 9th) for the full amount ($2,400).

Did you order from trail duty or directly with Gobi? I know I ordered from TD, they charged at the time of the order.

Delivery Tomorrow!

Well, my frustration was voiced too soon (I suppose). Got a call right before 5pm from the delivery company. They are scheduled to deliver tomorrow morning. As I had mentioned before, I wasn't part of the Group Buy, but ordered through Trail Duty in late November. So, roughly a 16 week turn-around time. I'm just glad that the waiting is almost over.
