Gonna sell my 4th gen.... maybe get a 3Rd Gen... advice?

Had a 4G but love my 3G

I bought a 2005 T4R and put 50k mile/year on business travel. Got 25 mpg sometimes. Great vehicle. But so many trucks out there I traded up for a 2007 Sequoia. The Sequoia was big lumbering safety mobile. I missed my 4Runner. I started driving less and now mostly local in Atlanta. I sold the Sequoia last month and started looking for a 3G T4r. This week I bought a 99 SR5 in showroom condition. I love this vehicle. These machines were made in Japan and you can feel the quality. Its a very tight car. And 11 years old .....amazing.

As some have said, the the biggest things you will notice: 1) ride is quite bouncy on the 3Gs and more truck-like, especially when your coming from a 4G, 2) the 3Gs are quite narrow, and 3) the power will be down a bit, but the overall weight is lower and handling is very responsive. Frankly I like the smaller and narrower T4R. My wife prefers the 3G. She owned a 2G for almost 10 years. She was more excited that me when I brought home the "new 1999".

Go find one. You will love it. Its a classic.

i'll just add that i'm keeping my 3rd gen till the 5th gen trail editions are in the 10K range, completely skipping the 4th gen 4runners.....heck i might not even get a 5th gen i might just buy a new engine and restore and old 3rd gen, depends on how the 5th gens do over the years....
