Good deal on this 01 4R?

Hey guys, first post here, hope this is the right sub. I'm in the market for a 3rd gen 4R and found one at a dealer near home that's a good deal, but there are some things on the Carfax that concern me and hope that as 4R experts, you guys can advise if any of these are red flags or not...

2001 4R SR5 - 132K - $6995

Of note, there was a reported accident, it failed an emissions test (and later passed) and there was recently an owner who had the car for a short period of time. Please see the images for details.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Sorry but I don't own a 4Runner yet as I'm looking just like you. However I'd walk away from this one based on the mileage inconsistency. I myself do not know how easy it is to turn back the mileage on these digital odometers but once something is tamperproof along come smart a$$ mice to figure it out.
On the other hand I'd never take my car to those butchers to let them change the oil. Chances probably are it was an error on their half.

Since it went from 126k to 117k I would bank on someone hitting a one instead of a two when punching in the number. As far as the accident it doesnt necessarily rule it out. Just make sure to check all of the body lines and paint. Check for overspray on door seals and minor plastic pieces. And use it as a bargaining chip if it checks out OK.

get it up on the lift and give it a good looking over. Check for leaking rear axle seals and any new parts from the accident repair. it could have been just a bumper collision or it could have been much worse. You need to find out. But I am curious why the 4th owner only had it for 4 months and only put on 800 miles. That would be the red flag in my mind. There may be a costly repair it needs he couldnt afford to do.

As stated, I'm sure they fat fingered the mileage input but 4 owners would concern me.

I agree with the others, get a mechanic to look over it for both mechanical and body issues.

Also, since it was in NY (owner 3), I'd check for possible rust issues.

It doesnt look bad though. A little steep IMO. If I were you, i would keep looking, unless their rare in your area. 3 owners, an accident, emissions issues. 7000?
